Crab cakes were large because of excessive filling.
Large asparagus spears were overcooked and tough. Shrimp and grits and salmon dishes good but nothing special. We expected much better, given reviews, and being our first time there.

Visited Blue Drum on January 8 with a friend. Our server was very kind, but wasn’t able to answer questions about the crab cakes and oysters. Having lived in Maryland, I’m always curious about how crab cakes are prepared, and after enjoying oysters in the Northeast and Northwest, I like to learn where they’re sourced. Back again today with my husband and hoping to update this to 5 stars.

AYCE crab legs weren’t bad, but very small and difficult to eat. That said, I’ll go back, but not for crab legs. Our server was outstanding, atmosphere is very cool, bartender was super. Initial greeting up front was less than warm.

This place is terrible! Fish was smelly and overcooked. The shrimp was so bad had to spit it in a napkin. She crab soup tastes old and was so thick could barely swallow the one bite I took. We left 2 plates of food. So bad we couldn’t eat. The server asked if we wanted a box. We said no. She saw 2 full plates of food and didn’t even bother to ask if everything was ok.

Ate here last night with a party of 6. Dropped $450 + tip. Food was very good but the server was unenthused and clueless; e.g. didn't know what items were GF for one in our party, didn't know where the fresh oysters were from, didn't know what a single malt scotch was and didn't know if the restaurant carried one (which they don't-really!!), couldn't articulate what was in the buerre blanc sauce, etc. It's a shame because she was a weak link in an otherwise good experience. As a former restauranteur it's a shame she was allowed on the floor without menu knowledge.

We are in the area visiting. What a great experience. Our server was Jessica. Very nice and answered our questions. We had no wait time. We made a reservation and went early. Food was so good. Prices are reasonable. We would love to go back if we have time.

6:30 Reservations for 4 inside. We waited until 6:55 after being told that they give patrons a 15 minute grace period to pay. OK well, we were offered a table outside after waiting 30 minutes. We were thirsty, hungry etc so we took outside table. Service was slow. So slow. Slow to get a server, then water and at least 45 m until food arrived. Husbands order was wrong (sent back to kitchen & waited 15 m for replacement) and my broccolini was scorched & extremely overcooked. I was offered green beans and they were great. This is just not what you expect from a restaurant with these price points. We didn't finish dinner until 8:40. :(

My husband & I had been wanting to try Blue Drum for a while & WOW….WHAT A TREAT! Worth the drive to Little River if you’re visiting Myrtle Beach area. Highly recommend the lobster bites & peel & eat shrimp, both exceptional! Simone took care of us at the bar & she was fabulous! We can’t wait to return!

Had brunch on Saturday January 10the my dinning companion ordered waffles and chicken but requested bacon in place of the chicken. The served accommodated her request when ordering. I ordered smoked salmon benedict.
The benedict was good and fresh.
Unfortunately my friend received one waffle a bit smaller and 3 slices of very well done bacon. Although she did eat the meal was disappointing.
Whe n questioning the server she said yeah that's how it's served, even though the menu clearly said waffles with an s.
I've had lunch here several times and was looking forward to experiencing the brunch offering. That won't happen again
