Makos Marina Bar & Grill

Met with friends for dinner at Mako’s. Glad we made a reservation because it was a busy Thursday night! We started with the Bayou butter shrimp and steamed littleneck clams and they were amazing! Although tempted by the specials, three of us ordered the scallops over risotto and one ordered ribeye. They were all fantastic! For dessert we ordered the blueberry cheesecake, pistachio cream brûlée and a fruit cobbler. Our server was attentive and funny! The owners stopped by to check in on us! It was such a great night! One of the best meals we’ve ever had! We are already making plans to go back next week!

My friend and I were starving and heard great things about Makos. We ordered one of their speciality espresso drinks that was bourbon and vermouth based and the Club Clover (if I'm not mistaken) along with the Arugula Walnut salad to start. Both drinks were well balanced and the salad was delicious- the warm house dressing really made it. My friend ordered the 8oz Linzer Hanger Steak and I ordered the Scallop & Risotto. D i v i n e. The cherries and red wine reduction that accompanied the steak just took the dish to the next level. The risotto was perfection and the scallops were beautifully cooked. We got the Smoked Cinnamon Espresso Martini and the Jack Rabbit along with the creme brulee for dessert. The martini was the perfect accoutrement to the creme brulee, but the Jack Rabbit is definitely something I'd order again and again. A little spicy, a little sweet, super refreshing, a great summer sipper. Jackie definitely knows what he's doing behind the bar and his service was phenomenal. Highly recommend coming here for great drinks and great food!

Hands down one of the best meals I've ever had! This place, for now, is a hidden gem in Little River. A quaint bar situated on the intercostal waterway with outstanding food. If you’re anywhere nearby, do yourself a favor and make this your next stop. You won’t regret it.

don't let the Bar and Grill name fool you. This place has some of the best food I've had at a restaurant! Not your typical pub food. Shrimp scampi was great, pork belly with scallops was phenomenal as were the steamers. And the lemoncello cake was obscenely good. Jack, our waiter, was both attentive and affable. I highly recommend this place!

Everything about Makos is great. The staff is amazing. The drinks are perfect. The food is second to none. Make sure to say hello to Steve Martin!

Food is fantastic and the presentation is amazing! Very talented chef. The staff is great as well. Try to make this one of our stops every time we are there.

Mako's provides fine dining at Little River waterfront prices. Great, great place.

My husband and I had the mahi and it was delicious! Our service was fabulous and the server was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Definitely would recommend this place as a fine dining experience.

This place is an absolute hidden gem in the Little River Water Front. Nestled between casino boats and along the water way its a perfect place for any meal outside on the water! Today we enjoyed brunch, each of us ordered a different meal. The crab eggs benedict was out of this world. Jumbo lump crab, perfectly poached eggs and wonderfully garnished plate. Other meals were the smash burger which was perfectly portioned with curly steak fries, the crab cake and a huge breakfast sandwhich with two eggs over medium piled high with bacon. Our server was fantastic and knowledgeable and told us the history of the venue. We will absolutely be back for dinner!

We brought out-of-town guests here for lunch and everyone was very happy with their food and very full after! We split the 1/2 lb of “peel and eat shrimp” — plump and delicious. 3 of us got Mahi Jerk Tacos, which came with fries (the menu wasn’t clear but the handhelds do include your choice of fries). Regular and Sweet Potato fries! One ordered the dinner Mahi. The food was top notch. Service and the outdoor deck over the river were lovely. A new favorite spot!
