It's okay. Have been for the buffet twice. The food is mediocre and somewhat bland. Both visits, the only meat option available has been 3 or 4 different kinds of chicken (or fried oysters 1 of 2 times). Only had any greens 1 of 2 times. Minimal vegetable options, except steamed cabbage w no flavor. Salt & pepper shakers are consistently sticky, so adding flavor requires washing your hands again. Peach cobbler was not sweet nor crisped on top.
Basically, it tastes like home cooked meals in the sense that anyone could make it just as well, or better, at home.
If it's my choice, I won't go back for food.

My husband and I had never been there before and we had the best service from the twins, Lane and Casey!! They have the best personality and makes you feel more than welcome!! Going back tonight for c the food and service!!

We were staying at sun RV resorts and decide to try this place out. I love how close it is to the campground. The food was delicious. The service was on point, Derrell is amazing, his vibrant personality and big smile brings so much joy! I honestly would eat here again even if the food sucked just because he's so great! But luckily the food was delicious too!

Wish we realized there was a separate dining room. She mentioned so you want bar or dining room? I thought she meant seated at bar vs the dining tables next to bar. Didn't know there was an entire separate room. The bar folks were obviously intoxicated and extremely loud. Food was fine, but the experience would have been so much better if we didn't have to listen to the drunks. We saw another group of 3 leave because of them. I heard the same question asked about location but there was no pointing to the separate dining space. Didn't see it myself until I got up to use restroom.

Their Sunday buffet was the worst buffet I have ever experienced. All of the meat choices (chicken, pot roast, ham) were grossly overcooked and dry, salad was soggy wet (and lacking ingredient choices) and the sides available were bland. I had assumed that we could optionally order from the menu (instead of the buffet) but no dice. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this establishment.

The Sunday lunch buffet (only Sunday lunch option) is sorely lacking in many ways. The sides were bland; the ham, pot roast, and chicken were tough and dry; the biscuits were flat. The buffet tasted like leftovers. The staff is friendly and helpful.
The food was really good. The buffet looks great. The prices for the food that we got were not terrible at all.
However, I will not be coming back because one of the waitresses, one of the twins I donāt know which one, maybe it was both I donāt know, extremely inappropriate rude comments to one of the guests at my table.
He had chosen to order something unhealthy, and he was a large person, however, it is none of the waitresses damn business to be commenting on peopleās food. So if you want to be fat shamed by a rude waitress, this is the restaurant for you.

Great place to eat with nice people and reasonable prices. We had seafood dishes and ordered off the menu our first trip here. Flounder was really good and so were the shrimp. They even brought us a small basket of hush puppies to munch on before we ordered. Cole slaw here is fabulous and so were baked potatoes and other sides. We went back for the buffet the second time around just to try more of their food. We were greatly rewarded with many traditional southern dishes including two types of chicken, kale, green beans, ham peach cobbler style desert and too much to name. Canāt wait to go back and sample more from this restaurant.

Some of the best seafood in Horry County. Iām local and have lived here all my life. So Iāve eaten a lot of seafood. Iāve been disappointed a lot by seafood restaurants serving up cold greasy food. Salt Water Grille is the best, perfectly fried, not greasy, freshly cooked seafood ! Iām picky about fried oysters, my favorite! Theirs are fried perfectly. The flounder, shrimp, scallops, and crabs are too. They make their sauces from scratch! And the waiter is excellent! We havenāt eaten there yet when the food wasnāt delicious! If youāve never eaten seafood at Salt Water Grille, youāre missing out on some of the best! Steaks are good too, and so is the buffet with just about every Southern comfort food there is!
