Christine and I are staying in this small town overnight. This restaurant was suggested to try out the pork chops. Well let me tell you WOWZA the chops very good . Christine had the chops and I had the ribs and butter beans and Mac and cheese. So darn good.

Where do I start 1) placed an order for pick up was told 20 minutes when I got there my order wasn’t even started and was told another 25 minutes 2) the food all my sweet potato fries overcooked super crunchy couldn’t even eat them My partners sandwich wasn’t prepared as requested and was average at best My Reuben was absolutely terrible bread burnt, they put provolone on a Reuben who does that 3) cleanliness not one person in the kitchen was wearing gloves the main chef had dreads hanging down then wiped his nose with his hands then proceeded to use that hand to touch food who the hell does that 4) was charged an additional $8 for what I don’t know didn’t realize that till I got home
Will avoid this place and recommend that anyone else do the same thing

We went there today. It was the Chicken Bog Festival and very busy. We sat down and no waite staff even looked as for 15 minutes, yet took care of several other tables around us that sat down after us. I even mentioned it after about 10 minutes and still no service, yet they took care of the locals that they obviously knew. Not a great way to bring in new business. We walked out...

My shrimp for a little overdone. The staff seem to be a little overworked even though it was not a busy night. The restaurant was hot even though they had a fan going it was just too hot. And there was the smoke from the grill permeating into the dining area

Backstreet Cafe has an awesome waiter, Patric! My sister let him know the day before my birthday that we were coming for lunch. He had made a bithday candy jar and balloons for me. It was a wonderful surprise. The food, of course was absolutely delicious! It always is! There was a cupcakes and a Birthday song!
Chicken salad was dry. Not very friendly. I'm from out of town and I got felt unwelcome. I wonder if they gave me 'yesterday's' chicken salad???

7/18/2025 wife an I went in for 1st time! I got there 9oz rybeye special. Wife chose fried porkchops! We both cleared our plates an I never clear my plate.. never.. while dinning we spoke with a couple there! Lady said its there favorite place an they drive from Mullins to eat there an they've had nothing on the menu as of yet that wasn't good. Again, the food wife ate and my plate was great!! Today's 7/19/2025 159pm an im about to do a call in order for 3.. I'm gona try there chicken Philly! An some fried mushrooms.. Back street Cafe is my favorite only after 1 meal..

Small town home cooked meals sure to please. The burgers, mozzarella sticks, cheesesteak, and fried chicken sandwiches were all very good.
Unfortunately it was hot in the restaurant despite being cloudy outside so that’s the reason for the three star for the atmosphere.
I will be back…just not for dine in when it’s hot.
