I just left here and I'm so upset. I ordered fried mushrooms and the batter they are using is horrible. My mushrooms looks wrinkle like an elderly person face. In the past the batter on this item was golden brown. Plus the mushrooms tasted flat no season.

Went to Backstreet Cafe for the first time for lunch a few weeks ago and returned just a few days later. Burgers, Ruebens and other items ordered were perfectly cooked! A few days ago, ordered takeout for dinner and were very pleased with food and portion size of entrees. Definitely check it out!

Just don't order Onion Rings. They're greasy, and fall apart on you plate. The fish cake dinner wasn't terrible, but I thought had a lot less crab meat, if it was actual crab.

The food is always good, the staff is always nice, and if you haven't tried the chicken bog you really should. Prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. A quiet little restaurant that my wife and I enjoy going to. We are quite happy we found Back Street Cafe.

So glad that the place we normally go to was closed, because it caused us to venture out and find this jewel!! I started with the shrimp bisque and I must say it was the absolute best I've ever had!!! My husband had the beef quesadilla as a starter and he was well pleased. For lunch I had the bam bam shrimp which came with Cole slaw and I added the sweet potato fries! I cleaned the plate! The sweet potato fries came sprinkled with sugar and just so delicious and the shrimp were cooked to perfection! The vile slaw was just the way I like it! My husband had the Philly chicken with onion rings and he ate until he was stuffed and still had to take some home! I can safely say we will definitely be back!
