A great introduction to SC style BBQ. Their ribs exceeded my expectations on flavor and tenderness. I also enjoyed their hush puppies which were extra crisp and crunchy. The hospitality and atmosphere made me feel welcomed and treated like family.

The food was not good. I used to love the barbecue and hash here. I also loved their coleslaw, but it tasted like it was just thrown together. I don't know if it was just a bad day they were having or if that's how it is now. I'm gonna try and give another chance because this food used to be spectacular. The hush puppies were small and hard as rocks. So underwhelming and disappointing. The yams were the only good thing on the plate.

I am a professional chef and I travel around the world for work. There is a fairly short list of restaurants I feel are mandatory to experience in a lifetime. This is one of them. Please, if you are traveling on I95 between the Northeast and Florida and you are breaking your ride, break it near there. DO NOT eat the crummy hotel breakfast and go directly there, pay for the buffet and be taken to a special place. Everything is good. Eat everything. Definitely have hash, definitely have fried chicken, eat bbq! Have it without the sauce first.
