That’s when we discovered Hoof & Barrel in York, South Carolina—a true hidden gem. I went all in with a mouthwatering slab of Angus beef, while my wife opted for the Cougar Classic burger. Both were absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection, and packed with flavor. But the experience didn’t stop at the food—Andrea, our server, went above and beyond, making us feel right at home with her outstanding service. If you’re anywhere near York, do yourself a favor and stop by Hoof & Barrel. Even if you’re not hungry, it’s worth the visit!”

“We have been going here for many years and often we order the same thing depending on time of day. This time I went for dinner and order the pecan crusted chicken sandwich which I have ordered several times before. When the food came the sandwich was cut in half. I noticed that half of the sandwich had a small cut of chicken. I thought that the chicken maybe had been cut off centered. But, as I looked at the other half of the sandwich the piece of chicken was the same small size. It literally looked like a chicken tender had been cut in half and placed on the toast. It was very disappointing. We asked the waitress about it and she took it back to the kitchen. In the end they brought us 2 more sandwiches the same way. This sandwich was not worth the money.”

“Wifey and I had dinner at Southern Touch last night - we both had BBQ plates. Was my 2nd time having their BBQ; I absolutely LOVE it! Tastes just the BBQ I loved in Georgia; ONLY BETTER! Thank you Southern Touch for the awesome food (still looking forward to trying the fried squash)! Their sweet BBQ sauce is awesome - give it a shot. Very friendly staff, thank you for the hospitality.”

“Daily specials that are excellent prices! Probably out the door with tax and TIP at $10 if you get just water... Ask for the spicy salsa too, and mix with regular, and it's a treat.
The place is somewhat small and usually packed, but they get you through quickly, food comes out quick and hot.

“About over 12 years ago, they opened a location in Matthew's Weddington. Where there is a Subway, Panda, HT, Shell, and a Karate place. A big church right next door. I remember a long time ago, my brother and I went to get Subway (closed now) Hwy 55 was right beside it (Now Papa's pizza pick up) over 12 years ago, I remember the owner was brand new starting this burger shake business and came out to talk to me. Said all these good things about the menu and how it brings back memories of the 1980s and older diner experience. I was only 20 something and sadly refused. Now I'm 33 (more mature) and very interested in history, especially the legendary old school diner experience. Will definitely visit real soon. Hope the owner understands about me not giving you guys a chance over 12 years ago. I feel bad, lol. Will definitely try now and many more.”

“We ate here this past Friday and we can't wait to go back! This is a very good restaurant, with great southern and seafood cooking. The bartender, I think his name was Sam was beyond exceptional! He filled us in on the vast menu and gave us a few recommendations that were on par! He made us feel like we were at home and was very attentive to our needs. Normally, when we go out to eat we have to tell our server/bartender what we need. With Sam, he was just on top of things and was on point! We will be back and back again. “I was there today with my wife and 13 of our family members. The food was great with big portions. Our waitress was super nice and kept checking on us to see of we needed anything . We live about 1.5 hours away and was visiting Lake Wylie but I think its worth the trip to go back for the great food. Thanks!”

“First time here and thrilled that we found a new place for breakfast! The food was delicious, especially the perfectly cooked home fries. Fresh vegetables in the omelet, fluffy Belgian waffle, and nicely seasoned sausage, eggs and biscuit. Definitely will be back!”

“Atmosphere is always a hit or miss. This time our server Bailey was pleasant and made sure we were satisfied. She went above and beyond, my drink had something in it and she spotted it before even leaving the bar, in response she sent it back to be remade. My wife's Caesar salad barely had anything in the bowl, she told them to do better and add more ingredients instead of just bringing it to the table as such. The wings are, always leave only the bone good 🤣. Asked for more sauce for them and she delivered. The pizza barely ever has much sauce on it so we always ask for a side of it to dip it in. Our drinks always taste like juice from the bar, even a long island. So my only suggestion are make the drinks stronger and put more sauce on the pizza. Especially being that you are going up on the prices of your drinks.”
