We went today for the first time after hearing friend rave about this place. I got the buffet. Completely uninspired bbq ( I tried all 3 kinds) ,old Mac n cheese, funky tasting hash, and and my boyfriend got the #1 chicken plate leg quarter mac n cheese and Cole slaw. The leg quarter was so small.and dried out it would have been funny , he got the same old reminded of mac n cheese that I did. He refused to eat it after trying to get a bite off the thigh and I didn't blame him one bit. They took his plate off the bill and I ended up paying 20 dollars for 1 plate of gross food thT I didn't come close to finishing. We will never go back

The food was very good, server was good, just didn't like the appearance of some of the buffet food. Some things looked dried out or had been sitting for awhile but overall a good, reasonable price place to eat. I would go again.

This is some real down home cooking! It is increasingly difficult to find true Southern cooking these days. This place has it down! Buffet style food with different specials based on the day of week. Friday is chicken night, so in addition to pork BBQ, they had broiled and fried chicken. Veggies were particularly good: collards, mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy, soup beans, Mac-n-cheese, sweet potatoes. For dessert they had excellent bread pudding, Oreo pudding & just-right banana pudding. Tea & Coke products to drink. No alcohol here. Single stall clean restrooms. The atmosphere is the one thing I wound improve if I could. The one dining room has high ceilings & a bad echo. It’s very hard to hear anything anyone says. From what I understand they often have live music. I don’t see the acoustics being very good, but I can’t say from experience. Free street parking only.

Barbecue buffet, two words that make my stomach sing! As a food/restaurant enthusiast, it hurts me deeply to have to write this review, especially after good friends touted this place as being one of the best barbecue joints around. For starters, the location is accessible enough and the parking is somewhat sufficient. When I got to the door I had high hopes but upon entering my enthusiasm was quickly doused. The color scheme and lighting gave it a very 'bland' appearance. As I approached the bar I saw signs of redemption, the classics-pulled pork, red rice, macaroni and cheese. All dishes that if done right are food for your soul but if done wrong can be a dagger in your heart. Unfortunately I experienced the latter... The red rice had little to no meat and it was clearly visible that the 'red' that should have been soaked into the rice was instead mixed in giving it a ketchup and white rice appearance, the taste equally lackluster. But I persevered on to the macaroni and cheese which at first glance looked incredible until I started plating it. Baked macaroni and cheese has been a staple of my life for as long as I can remember. The ingredients, the consistency, the texture, all things that have to be done right which in this case left much to be desired as it was in fact macaroni sitting under cheese. Sadly, just as bland as the decor which segues us to the pulled pork. It was very hard for me to accept the fact that it was watery in texture and appearance and that the only difference between the three varieties was sauce that was mixed in haphazardly. It was akin to meat that had been previously frozen, thawed out, and then underheated. To avoid falling further down the rabbit hole suffice to say the rest of the selection, dessert included, falls under the same precipice. On the bright side, the iced tea was some of the best I've had out of a restaurant in quite some time. But that does not warrant the price tag. I'm hoping that this was just an isolated incident and that I just had a bad experience. Perhaps I'll give it another try another day but in this business first impressions mean a lot, so you've got to be good every time all the time...
