We were very disappointed to learn today that Barefoot Bistro has closed its doors. It was definitely our go to place for meat and three type food. The restaurant was always clean, well lit, great service. The fried chicken and vegetables all were flavorful, well cooked, served hot. The extra touches with warm mini pumpkin muffins as appetizers were delicious. They always offered free dessert of either in house baked cookie or bread pudding although we seldom had room for dessert. The sign on the door today said relocated to Wild Wing Cafe at Barefoot. We went there and was told that the menu was similar and a work in progress. The atmosphere was dark, stale smelling, shoes stuck to the floor. We ordered the fried chicken and vegetables as sides. It is not the same food as far as taste and quality. We won’t return to “the new location”.

Ordered a green salad to go and it was ok, nothing special about the dressing and chicken was dry as well as portions were small.

Food took forever and came out cold. I let them know. The only one concerned was the waitress.

Came in on a Wednesday night. (11-23) I was seated right away. The service was pretty good. I had to wait 20 to 30 minutes, and then I finally asked my waitress for a pen to sign my tab. When she gave me the bill, she said she would be right back because she forgot to give me a pen. She totally forgot to come back. From the time I sat down, I noticed a lady going table to table speaking with customers. I'm guessing she was the owner or manager. Not once did she come to my table. She even sat and talked with the table across from me pretty much the whole time I was eating my delicious meal. The shrimp and grits I got were some of the best I've had in a long time. The sweet tea was also really good. It was so good and refreshing. I had four glasses of it. I would have given 5 stars but because I waited like 30 minutes after finishing up my meal to get a pen and the owner or manager not checking up on me like she did with every other table in the establishment that's why only 4 stars. It's still worth a try, and I would go back.

We almost left because it looked like they were closed. But, we're glad we didn't. The Hostess was very welcoming. The food was quick and delicious! We even had extras to take home for lunch the next day! It was the most affordable of all the restaurants we went to this week.

Food is always hot, delicious and lots of variety for everyone. Jan is our favorite server, we love her. The onion rings are the best I’ve ever had. Only thing we wish was the restaurant is always chilly, so bring your sweaters

Kid-friendliness: They are always so sweet to the kids and older folks. A local favorite!

Food here is very good, service was slow, perhaps the staff was stretched a bit thin that night. I had the fried chicken, my wife had the pot pie and for dessert we shared coconut custard pie which was fantastic. This place also has great soups and you can get them to go which we do during the winter months to heat up at home throughout the week. Truly a hidden gem hiding behind chain restaurants beside the Food Lion.

Real nice place with sweet ladies working. Felt like home. They even thought I was a local. I got the coconut shrimp with there house made marbale which was spot on. I also got some potatoe balls which are 4 big soft fired mash potatoes stuffed with cheese. A little overwhelming at first but I was able to eat a whole one. I also got some of there fresh baked deserts. 10/10! To top it all off I got some extra pumpkin bread muffins for free I guess or they just come with each order. More for breakfast time but really good.!!! The menu does need some tweaks though and signage in the restaurant would be nice. I recommend to others and will definitely be back!

I'd eat here every meal if I could :) From the incredibly friendly service to the wonderful food - this out of they way restaurant really does hit all marks. The food is home style cooking and extremely good - to the point that the leftovers made a great second meal. Just wonderful all around.

Great experience. The Monday meatloaf was excellent. I recommend the potato balls as an appetizer.
