So busy we had to eat at the bar! Bartender was moving and gave us great service! I had an amazing make your own salad with citrus shrimp on it and my husband had shrimp and grits. Definitely will be back!

Slowest service we ever encountered on a restaurant in our whole life!!!Went there at 7pm and seated 7:30,ordered our food 7:45 and food served @ 9 pm.Grilled Chicken came out cold so it kinda hardened.Got a Turkey sandwich and meat was overcooked.Unbelievable!!Worst restaurant ever!!!NEVER AGAIN!!!

I understand hickory tavern is busy, but lord the wait is long. Once, I’ve waited a hour and ten minutes for my food and I was still waiting. Wouldn’t recommend NEVER COME HERE!!

Food was good but would have been better if we could have enjoyed it together. Some food came to our group then a long wait until more came out. Then after more waiting my fries came to the table by themselves in a bowl. When the rest of our party finished their meal my entree arrived. It was unusual to be eating while the rest of our party waited for me to finish. A first for me.
Ordered via door dash and my drinks were not put in my bag. The burger arrived soggy and the wings were flavorful but dry. I tried to call but no one answered the phone. Disappointing first experience.

We are part time locals as we have a second home in N. Myrtle. Over the years we have tried to patronize this restaurant. We go in person and usually have a decent experience. Sometimes it hit or miss depending on if they have enough staff. The last few times we have ordered take out and have been disappointed every. single. time. Tonight was no exception. Three entrees were ordered and all 3 were either missing items or incorrect. Our entrees included make your own salad, cheese burger and 8 wing meal. Every one of them was wrong or missing items (like the fries on the wing meal). Unfortunately, I would recommend using your best judgement when choosing this restaurant over others in the area. Quality of service & food quality has continued to deteriorated.

I got the Shrimp & Grits to go for my mom because she absolutely loves them & hadn't had them in a while.It tastes nothing like what we have ate before. The grits tastes instant, it was TOO soupy. It honestly reminds me of soupy pot roast that someone added a few instant grits to. There is absolutely no spice, flavor, nothing. The bowl is a lot smaller than you'd expect for $20, and the bowl wasn't even filled up.I hate I got her this as a "surprise".The girl at the bar & the hostess were phenomenal, the atmosphere was what you'd expect but the food... I guess you have to be drinking to enjoy....???As far as local bars I'd recommend this place to someone but I wouldn't recommend the food.

I was surprised to see they have cut back. No more small croissants with your salad. I didn't care for the salad on a plate. Bring back the deep dish bowel. Our waitress seemed like she had a slight attitude a little snippy or short. And to busy doing a task to check back with us. I had to call her over to our table. Even then she didn't walk completely over to our table. She still hung closer to her task. It was if... ya what do you want.
