J Peters Grill & Bar - North Myrtle Beach

Took 30 seconds to walk out! Arrived at 4:10 ( their happy hour) to a full bar. Thankfully there were 2 seats available at the bar, when we went to sit down the bartender told us the seats were occupied by people who hadn’t arrived yet. Yep, 2 seats were occupied by people who weren’t even there. If that’s how you run your establishment I’ll go elsewhere. I’ll never be back!

Took the family here while on vacation. I ordered a prime rib sandwich. It was cut weird and couldn’t be picked up. The prime rib on it had no flavor and was more of a chipped beef. My son ordered a filet, it was undercooked for medium rare and absolutely no flavor. It tasted like I was eating a hamburger. My son ate one bite, and I ate the rest.

Cocktails were reasonably priced and good

The kicker on the end is being charged 4% to use a card, do people still carry a few hundred cash on them? Then when you get the suggested tip amount they base it off the post tax and post 4% increase. So my bill was 180 and they have the suggestions based on the 215 (post tax and 4% credit card charge). I deduct the 4% from the server tip and base it on pretax. I try to write a note on the receipt so the owner/management understands they are just costing their own servers money to cover their fees. This is really starting to weigh on me as someone who always used to tip 30%.

The restaurant was clean and inviting. Our server was friendly and professional. She took the orders for the ladies in our group first. Very attentive and answered all our questions. This was our first time dining here and we will definitely be going back.

Went for a burger after their happy hour was over so we sat at the bar and had it all to our selves. The bartender Kristen? Was quite amusing, and she provided excellent service. The burger was excellent too.

Undetermined on food as I've yet to try any, but i will adjust review once I do. I've come through these doors for one reason....Brian. Over the years not only has he provided a fun and energetic atmosphere, we have also become great friends. It also seems as though he's got great support from coworkers which speaks volumes about an establishment.

We arrived about 8:05 pm, not realizing they closed at 9 pm. I entered and asked if it was ok, and they very openly welcomed us, even though it was July 4th!
The waitress was really nice, and stayed very attentive to us.
The food was absolutely amazing. Prime rib was fantastic. The breaded shrimp in the shrimp platter was one of, if not the best, we've ever had. It was breaded perfectly, and wasn't hard or crunchy like other places. The alfredo was thick and delicious.
One of our kids had grilled cheese, which he said was top 2 he has had down in NMB/MB.
The salad came out with a honey glazed croissant, which was indescribably good. Best salad in town!
The ice cream sundae dessert was fantastic as well!
Our waitress said she's worked here for 4+ years, which means it must be a well run business to retain employees.
Very happy, and will definitely return!

Prime Rib is amazing

We have eaten several time at J Peters, North Myrtle Beach. I usually order the Flounder platter with fries. But this evening the flounder was fried to a crisp to where I had to cut it with a knife. I didn't send it back but, I should have.

Sat in the bar area and Rachel was busting her tail taking care of her customers. We got there in time to try some items on the early bird menu.

The only thing I would fix is the kitchen staff brought the appetizer out then the food back to back with no time to eat the appetizer. For the price, you don’t want to be rushed. It was not the server because we watched it happen at other tables also. The food was good though.
