Johnny D’s is absolutely amazing. Do yourself a favor and get the red velvet waffle — and definitely add a piece of fried chicken. It might just be the best breakfast in the South. The cornbread is incredible too. Highly recommend!
Faith was our waitress. She was awesome in general and even offered me an oxiclean for some chocolate i dripped on my shirt! The chocolate banana pecan pancakes were to die for!!

This was my first time at this location. I came in on a Wednesday about an hour after opening. There was no wait, plenty of parking, and plenty of seating. The staff is very friendly and kind. I had the twisted chicken and waffles, which was delicious 😋 The seasonal margarita was tasty too. Highly recommend this place. I'll be stopping in every time I come to Myrtle Beach.

So disappointed in a restaurant we have always looked forward to when visiting Myrtle Beach. While the service was discombobulated and couldn't answer very basic questions it wasn't so bad that it would turn us off as customers that have visited many times. However, the food was so bad relative to their previous standard in years past. Prime rib that has more in common with steakum than what one should expect with such a name. The gravy seemed like it was reheated partially and had unmelted gelatinous cube type lumps. The potatoes were VERY mushy and the English muffin was chewy even with the coloring of something that had been grilled/toasted. My wife's stuffed French toast could only be partially eaten after unstuffing it to remove the off-putting peach jam and then syrup doused over. Heck, even the sweet tea was off tasting.
I feel embarrassed for ALWAYS recommending Johnny D's to anyone visiting the area. I don't what's happened. It feels almost corporate and fake. The noise was do high it was distracting. Even the whimsy decor had a sterile targeted feel. I've never experienced such a 180 in a visit to eat at a beloved restaurant. The shear number of menu items has went through the roof and that rarely is ever a good thing. It's my fault for brushing that off due to being such advocates of this formerly fantastic eatery.
Won't be back as generally once a place goes this route it rarely ever gets back to what made it fantastic in the first place. :(
