This is a neat little place to get authentic Mexican food. It's kind of small and your beverage choices are limited, but the food is really good.

I have been several times and everything was always very delicious and the service from the previous waitress was very good, but I went last night, I understand that they close at 9 and we went around 8:20, we had no intention of delaying but the waitress was very rude, I asked her if we could sit down and she said yes but please quickly, after bringing us the food she never asked again, and I got up to ask her for a glass of water and she was super rude, and incidentally she sent me the bill back. I'm a waitress and I understand that when it's close to closing, you want to leave but that's no way to treat a customer. Terrible Terrible service from the waitress, she was a Venezuelan girl if I'm not mistaken.

Food and service were both just not good. Need to clean up and focus on customers. Location is ok but not worth a second visit.

I don't write reviews often, but when I do... It's because the place deserves it. La Promesa is an authentic hole in the wall. Although the seating is a bit cramped, the service is excellent, and the food is as good as you'll find. I worked in San Salvador as a consultant and the papusas (cheese and mixed) here are absolutely incredible. Horchata was great too. If you've never tried hand-formed, cheese filled, skillet-fried masa, you don't know what you're missing. Seriously, try the papusas!

The food here is really good but the employees are very very rude unless you are Hispanic. I sit and watch to see if it was just that person but it’s all people who are not Hispanic that they are rude to. I can get an over priced taco anywhere and be treated with respect and dignity.

Food is ok. The staff did not impress me. We were not told they had specials. Our drinks were never filled back up. We were not checked on at all. I felt more like I was being tolerated instead of a paying customer. I can get an over priced taco anywhere.
