Tailgate Oyster Bar

I was in town for a fishing weekend and was really looking forward to some local oysters for a quick app. I arrived to soft crappy classic rock covers and tiny ass oysters. I had to actually make sure it wasn't an empty shell they were so thin.

I am origianly from Lousiana and this is what y'all are overcharging for and calling oysters?? ??.

Only redemption was the excellent waiter with an understanding, calm attitude.

Hard fail on vibe and quality fresh local seafood though.

Great food. We had the clamp chowder, 1lb of shrimp 12 raw oysters 12 steamed clams and the key lime pie. Everything was great. The oysters are in the middle of the road. Not to small and not to big or not to sweet and not to salty. For the everyday person these oysters are good. The clam chowder was fantastic. The clams were good if that's your thing. The steamed shrimp was great and the most tart key lime pie I have ever had. Very friendly staff! Over all a great experience next time I want to try the burgers.

came from NJ and wanted oysters and saw this place. best decision i’ve made. oysters were fresh and well portioned. Only came for oysters but wanted to try something else on the menu. I ordered the snow crab legs and as expected super good. 10/10 recommend. owner was welcoming and the service was great and fast.

My niece was visiting from Indiana and she wanted oysters We were seated outside at our request Natural was our server and entertainment! He did a wonderful job Great service and conversation
We ordered oysters Rockefeller and steamed oysters Both were super good!! I will be back every chance I have Thanks for a great experience

my family and i love to get oysters when we go on vacation and this place did NOT disappoint!! amazing oysters (both raw and rockefeller) and the peel and eat shrimp was fantastic. we are not dessert people but the lemon pie was DELICIOUS (i believe the owner’s wife makes the pie?).

not only was the food spectacular, the service and atmosphere was as well. if you are thinking of going there, this is your sign!!

Love the decor. Great service. Our waitress was Dossie was excellent. Great shrimp and oysters. Bar nice.

Didn’t even get a chance we showed up place was full inside lady said find a spot outside and she’ll come , we’ll we found a spot behind the musicians and waiting more than 30mins !!! No acknowledgement meanwhile everyone around us got served !!!! I won’t recommend when busy!!! This pissed me off big time

We were visiting south Myrtle Beach from Ohio and a friend told us to visit tailgate if we went anywhere. They have limited hours so plan for that. The staff, the vibes, the food were all amazing. My partner and I together ate three dozen oysters. Best ever! Smash burger is good too! Key lime pie is outrageous. Staff were so lovely.
