The Grumpy Monk North Myrtle Beach

We have been to the Grumpy Monk at Broadway multiple times and had a wonderful experience, was in fact my kids favorite. Decided to try the one in North Myrtle and was highly disappointed. Waited double the time they told us, while watching multiple people coming in after and getting sat. Was given no apology. The hostesses were very unfriendly as well. When we were finally sat, not a single waiter came to our table, had to seek one out. Given food with no silverware and more. Definitely skip this one and got to Broadway instead!!

Great place, hopping scene with live music. Only small complaint is if we wanted something like drink refills, we had to stop waiter as he walked past. He never stopped to ask how food was or if we needed anything.

BBQ ribs were really good.

This place seems pretty cool. They have games, corn hole, and other entertainment while waiting for your table. We were told a 40minute wait, completely fine. Once we got sat, we sat for 20mins and no one had been to our table. We were told the manager was coming over. No manager,but we did get a server and she was awesome!! I wish we could remember her name. She took our order and was great with refilling our drinks/adult beverages. We then waited another 45 minutes for our food. As we were receiving our food the table next to us was also having issues with their food (they said it was cold and had waited awhile for their food as well). We also notice the restaurant was clearing out as our meal was ending. We never saw the manager. Waiting with 2 children that were hungry was tough and a little ridiculous. We probably won't be back.

The Monk burger is good..Happy hour sushi is good as well. Miss the Mexican roll on it though. They have discontinued the tater tots which was one of if not the best regular side they had. Service was ok. The server forgot a thing or two but was nice and courteous and the one who dropped food off made sure we did get them. It was a good visit, not the best but it was good so that's why the 4 stars this time.

So the food, service and other expectations of a restaurant are excellent here. Prices are OK, reasonable for the area. My issue was with the noise. When we were there and there wasn't live music, this place was fantastic. But two other times - and the reason I haven't been back - was that the live music was so loud that we couldn't talk, and when 4 out of the 5 of us are former military and having at least some hearing loss aren't comfortable with the noise, please take it as way too loud. Bad enough off to the sides, but right in front of the stage was really bad - ruined the entire meal for us. Sorry, I'm not wearing ear plugs to go out to eat, even if the food is really good.

Food was mediocre at best and waited a hour and 30 minutes for food once ordered . Service was poor also .

Worst dining experience EVER.
Waited for 50 minutes to be seated and immediately ordered . Food took 1 1/2 hours to arrive and wasn't much better than McDonalds

Manager took 10% off bill . Not worth my time . Save your time and money on this dumpster of a restaurant

IM HANGRY, AND I NEEDED FOOD BUT THEY MADE ME WAIT AGES. I CONSIDERED TAKING A BABYS FOOD.

Katy was fantastic and we loved the beer selection!

My family and I stopped here while on our family vacation. The food was delicious and fast, but I would like to shout out our server, Emilie. She was so friendly and kind and went above and beyond for us to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. She had my kids laughing full belly laughs and was so good to them. I definitely recommend coming here! Especially if she will be your server ☺️

First time there I didn’t understand ordering from QR code & Waitress/Bartender was Very Rude & No Help! Will Never Go Again!😡

Service was excellent!! Monk chicken sandwich very tasty and the double blackened Mahi Mahi. Plenty of TVs and great beer selection.

Deana was so wonderful! She made sure our drinks stayed full, checked in at all the appropriate times. Very relatable and even able to take a minute for a small conversation.
