Very good food, the place was packed and people waiting. Nice enough place but not fancy, dress was casual. Decent service for being so busy, but got our appetizer with the meal. Got my dessert to go, I thought they totally forgot it?.

I love The Shack, especially for breakfast. They have a great breakfast menu, and the food is always hot and delicious! Today I had the Loaded Trash which is a bowl of grits topped with bacon, sausage, cheese, and an egg cooked how you like it. I also love their fried pork chops, which are on the menu on Wednesdays. If you are looking for a nice spot with good vibes, try The Shack!

Okay" This is by far the BEST place for seafood ? I'm from Maine and am a scallop diver and can say THESE are the real deal" I haven't found any other place in Myrtle beach area that serves real scallops!Even back in New England only a handful of restaurants serve real scallops! Most are punched out Skate wings or worse yet' Fish goo That's processed to look like scallops but taste nothing like it" The hush puppies here are to die for as is everything else I've tried so far" I never eat bake potatoes but here I do" Delicious ?

I had fried chicken dinner.It was excellent. Can’t wait to go back and try the catfish. I gave the food only 4 stars because my wife had the broiled chicken which was a little dry.Price and portions were great, can’t wait to go back!

Wow, this is a little gem we were told about 3 years ago - can’t believe we missed it so many years . They have the best scallops ( huge), fried oysters and other seafood . They also have different southern vegetables each day - so many to choose from and entrees like country entrees like country style steak , best fried chicken . We’ve never had anything g we didn’t like , and always leftovers - great portion size . We were there in Mid Feb abd it was wonderful because there was no wait. , but even in the Summer and Fall, it moves fast . There’s a nice seating area under an awning where you can sit until you’re called . Also fantastic breakfast . Check out the menu on their website . You always know a restaurant is great if the local people dine there .

So finally got here today after driving by many times.The place is always crowded and always a wait.At best the food is just pedestrian.I was expecting much much better but was clearly dissapointed.My New England clam chowder was from a can and my pot pie was really not good.My cousins crab cake sandwich was uneventful.Really was dissapointed but the lone bright spot was our server who was attentive and on top of her duties.prices are good but clearly better choices down the road thx TN

I’m a country girl and know how to cook good country food and this was just not it. Not bad but not great. I’m sure for many from the city or those without real home cooking, the Shack is wonderful. Need to try their seafood. Probably pretty good.

My lunch was listed as an appetizer, the Shacks version of fried shrimp bang bang. It was soo good. Added sweet potato fries. Other meals ordered were fried seafood platter, shrimp salad, and meatloaf with mashed potatoes. All enjoyed their food.
