No. 1 China hands-down has the best Chinese food I've ever had. I've lived in Bluffton for going on 13 years and have yet to find better takeout in the region. What's worse, is that I'm spoiled. I can't even get Chinese food when I'm traveling. I visit family in NY and all over Georgia and have yet to find better Chinese food. No. 1 China will forever be my go-to spot for great takeout. Bonus: in all the years I've been visiting...they've never messed up an order.

Indifferent fare. Base sauce smelled like canned gravy. Pork with veg: 7 thin pieces precooked red pork, 2 slivers carrot, a lot if cabbage

The place was empty and right in the middle of me ordering, someone walked in, interrupted and the woman taking my order just walked away to take his order! Food was awful and high priced; the egg rolls are small and with scant filling. They charged me the mustard and didn't even include any packages of duck sauce! The gal behind the counter was rude and impassive. It was so slow considering it was lunch hour, that the cook was able to socialize with the woman behind the counter while my order was being packed up. Very disappointed 😔. They also rounded up my bill from what it said on the cash register!! Accoding to much older reviews, things were better when previous owners had the place. I should have gone to Chin Dynasty or Hong Kong a few miles away! .

Bad service and pretty dirty inside. My food was 9.80 after tax so I handed her my card - she charged me 10.00 and said it’s their system rounds up. So you stole my .20?? Pretty sure that’s illegal. Will not be going back.
Edit: I made the initial review before trying the food as I don’t expect much from cheap Chinese takeout but keyword is try. Because I didn’t eat it. Food was super bland and chicken was all gristle.

Food very mediocre. Be careful with your order. Waitress will ask if you want white rice on the side. That puts you at a dinner price, rather than lunch price. Food is not authentic, and it’s not even good. Take out only option. It’s a rip off. I won’t return.

I ordered egg foo young and it was like eating a bowl of grease. I called them and they said too bad. No refunds. and they wouldn't remake it. I will Never go to that place again.
They don't know how to cook egg foo Young. It was the worst I ever had my husband brought it home and one bite it was like a grease sponge. I called and they said too bad. It's because it's cooked in grease. It was disgusting. We will never go back.

This used to be our number 1 Chinese place when we live in okatie 8 years ago. We were so excited last week to be able to back while in town, however, it is not what we left. It was awful. Chicken was huge chunks and the lo mein was over done. We were very disappointed.

Heading home and hungry for take-out Chinese food -- so I decided to stop and try. The General Tso chicken was very good -- the chicken was crispy, the sauce sweet and spicy. I would order it again with just white rice. The egg roll and fried rice that came with the combo were just average takeout.
