Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Been about 15 years since my last Cracker Barrel visit. Service was great and food better than I remember.

We bought a steak, a burger and a chicken meal. All three were overcooked. The steak and broccoli weren’t seasoned. The staff was supposed to let me know when my to go order was ready, but they were too busy talking. Eventually, I checked the rack myself and found my order (already paid for) and left with it.

My husband ordered the Thursday special turkey dinner. The turkey was dried out and hard. The stuffing was dry and the mashed potatoes were as if they were scraped from the bottom of a pot, crumbly and dry. My chicken and dumplings werr good. There were five tables that needed to be cleared. Our waitress, Michaela, was good.

I enjoy Cracker Barrel normally! Our waiter was great! No issues there, the poor waiter placed our order in at 8:00 and we were then told the kitchen had thrown out all of our food choices because they are closing at nine, we we got here an hour and a half before. They then gave us all plastic ware to eat our food in to avoid doing dishes I’m assuming? Or just because they didn’t have any which was not great… again waiter was great and attentive but very disappointed in the lack of food options because it was “thrown out”. then the bathrooms were disgusting and need to be cleaned badly.

I really liked this cracker barrel, the crowd was nice, the food and the service was what you expect from cracker barrel. Actually, the taste here was surprisingly better than usual

Cracker Barrel is a restaurant we love in the USA. Stopped here at this location on January 3rd 2026. Worst experience from the very start the hostess was rude and dismissive. We were seated at a dirty table in which she did a half arsed job at cleaning. Almost every table in the place was filthy and filled with dirty dishes. Overall a very unpleasant dining experience.
I do want to note that the food tasted great and our waiter was polite and attentive. The kitchen staff seemed to be coming out eventually and trying to clear tables. I spent many years in the restaurant industry and I feel that when you have two hostesses they should be capable of assisting with clearing and preparing tables. And the floor was very messy. Upon our exit one of rhe hostess was on her phone playing and the other one with the attitude was sitting behind her with an unpleasant look on her face.

i go to the cracker barrel in orangeburg sc every weekend for breakfast and i always receive great service and food is always good and my order is always correct. staff is very friendly

I’ve never been to a bad Cracker Barrel before this one. I was hoping to have a good birthday meal, but that was not to be. The server did her best and was very kind and apologetic, but it’s obvious the management and the kitchen are a problem. Waited over a half hour for eggs. Patrons around me were missing items that didn’t come for a while. One family got up and left after no one took their order 15 mins after sitting down. And all this when the restaurant was not even a third occupied.
As we were leaving one of the employees came in reeking of weed. Real classy.
Don’t even bother with this place.

We had a great server, but I'd ordered soup and salad for lunch (it was around noon and on a Sunday). The salad was fresh and delicious. The kitchen had not made any soup. Not the usual Chicken Noodle. Not the special of the day. Not having soup at lunch is like running out of eggs at breakfast. Will inquire before being seated next time. Left hungry and disappointed.

Walked in at 8:15 to get it to go order. Was told they stopped taking to go orders a half hour before they close which would be 830. Was told that they didn’t do to go orders at 8:15. The store should be shut down and I don’t even know why I walked into begin with after the disaster created with the logo. No, I see why people boycott your stores. Your service is worse than your new logo.

Great chicken and dumplings and the best cooked carrots anywhere! Biscuits are fabulous too!
