Bistro 217

We have been here many times, and this time it did not disappoint. Adam was our server. He was knowledgeable, and very enjoyable to deal with. The food, as usual, was reliably excellent. We will be back 

My family and I ate at Bistro 217 for the 1st time and it was very good. The service and food was amazing. Will definitely be back.

We eey much enjoyed our night at Bistro 217. Very nice atmosphere, the staff is great and the food was excellent. Our only issue was the food came out at a very fast pace. I barely finished my soup when our mains were served. Not a major problem at all but a little more time between courses is appreciated. We'll be back, but hopefully the pace of service will be slightly slower.

Food was outstanding and service was impeccable. We were not rushed through our meal. We had a great experience - this was my second time dining, and my 3 girlfriends first time. I ordered the chicken orzo - for the second time - it's that good!!! My friends had the filet and shrimp, the diver scallops special and the snapper special. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals! We will be back for sure!

A bit loud at times. Food was good, ambiance kinda tight. Service was excellent. Rating based upon noise, good food, not great food. Excellent service.

Love this restaurant! Had a great meal last night with my Husband. We both ordered the filet- perfectly prepared. The ambiance is very nice. The service is good.

Had a wonderful lunch with friends. The food was great as always, and Sue took such good care of us.

The food and service was good but we were crowded into a corner with very little room on the table. This was a family birthday celebration and it was most disappointing. I mentioned the crowding but was ignored.

Excellent service. Food was very good. Happy with our order: pear salad, crab cakes, tuna appetizer and triple tale fish on delicious mushroom risotto. Dessert was shared flight of icecream which is made in house and is magnificent. We were happy.

Our family saying... “Bistro never fails!” We dine at Bistro 217 regularly. It is always exceptional! Outstanding service. Delicious food. An ambience that makes you want to stay. Just an impeccable experience. 

As usual, Bistro 217 hits the mark. We dined midweek with a reservation. We were greeted with smiles and seated promptly. While I might suggest a menu update, the dishes they have served for so many years have been honed to delicious perfection. Starting with crisp fried oysters over a caesar salad that our server offered to split for us, we knew we were in great hands. It is difficult to decide what to get from the menu as all dishes are very good but we had carpaccio as an entree and the half portion filet mignon over potato cake with creamed spinach and grilled shrimp. Two of our favourites. They both taste great, look great and are sized right if you don't want to over stuff yourself. While we did not have it on this evening, the whole fried fish is amazing and so is the fried flounder. And if they have them on special, we do not pass up a chance for the grouper cheeks. What makes Bistro 217 our go to in Pawleys Island is the service. Prior to Covid they had outstanding service, their front of house staff was always warm and welcoming and ready to make your dining experience special. During and after Covid, no change. At a time when most restaurants struggled, Anne an her team excelled. And that is another point of excellence at Bistro 217, the back of house crew nail it every time. I cannot think of a meal I've had there that disappointed me. Finally, I know that it is Anne herself that makes it so special. She is on site everyday and she speaks to every table when she is there. If she doesn't say hello, its Shawn or Rich making sure you have enjoyed your meal. And Greg is the man that keeps the bar full of frequent happy guests. This is the best place to dine in Pawleys Island or even the south end of the Grand Strand or Hammock coast.

Anne is the most unbelievable host. Her management and personnel amaze me every time I enjoy a meal there.

Our waiter said that the French onion soup was fabulous but it was actually so bad that I sent it back- it tasted sour, had very little onion and was loaded w croutons ( authentic French onion soup has a buttery onion flavor, lots of sautéed onion and a nice slice of toasted French bread topped with melted cheese). The waiter said that he would take it off of our bill but when I got home I saw that he had NOT done so! The steak that our guest ordered came cold and both the pork and trout were smothered in a thick sauce ( vs a nice light sauce as they should have). The dinner was almost $300 and the food was extremely disappointing!

Bistro never disappoints. Seated promptly food drinks and service. Everything was wonderful.
