Captain John's Seafood Grill

Just stopped in for drinks.

My husband had the gumbo soup and he said that was good. He also had the spicy Fried oyster dinner and it had very little flavor and rather mushy. I had the fried haddock sandwich that had absolutely no flavor, no seasonings of any kind used to prepare it. It came to me on a cold roll, which I sent back to them to grill.There was one small piece of lettuce and no tomato. We’ve always wanted to try this restaurant and for one reason or another we just got around to it this evening. It seems when we go by that the parking lot is always full as it was tonight but when we got inside, they were only four people having dinner, so I guess what I’m trying to say is it was very disappointing and although some of the reviews are good and that’s what we went on, we were very disappointed and could not recommend it nor will we return.

Tried Captain John's for the first time. Great lunch specials with excellent service. Parking is a little tight, so be patient.

The service at this establishment is commendable, with the staff being exceptionally courteous and diligent. However, the food quality falls short of expectations. The meals are rather austere for the price charged, although none of the dishes were particularly unpleasant. Nevertheless, I believe that the quality of food should be commensurate with the cost, and unfortunately, this is not the case here. While I do not intend to be overly critical, I feel that the standards for this establishment are not being met.

My family is in town for vacation and stopped in to eat. We had everything from fried/cajun shrimp and haddock to scallops. Side options we had were fries, potato salad, orzo pasta, onion rings, and coleslaw slaw. Everything was delicious. I recommend the Cajun seasoning, but you will not go wrong with any option. The staff were very attentive and nice. Definitely recommend this place, and we will be back!

Got the shrimp & scallops.. grilled to PERFECTION. Our server, Samina, was so knowledgeable, recommended old bay fries… so delish. The bartender made an amazing mule, overall a great experience, we will be back

Ordered whole belly clams from the menu on a Saturday night....they only get them in on Thursdays so none available. Ordered clam strips...they only get them in early in the week so none available. Why doesn't their menu specify availability? Ended up with a hot sausage with onions and peppers sandwich and potato salad, which were both good. But, availability was very disappointing.

This place has amazing food! Clam chowder is so flavorful! Then the steaks were cooked perfectly and so tender. French fries were hot & crispy. Came back today for a bacon cheeseburger and did not disappoint! Cooked perfectly with generous amount of bacon on it. Plus the cheesecake was really good. Great food, great atmosphere, friendly & helpful wait staff. We will definitely be back!

Had the special last night for dinner. It was delicious! Linguini and clams! I’m still thinking about it. Sooooo very good!
