This year with our family not being able to travel for Thanksgiving, we decided to give them a try for their “Thanksgiving Buffet”. We had 6 people total. We were told we needed reservations and that the reservations ran from 10a-2pm. We wanted to eat around noon and that was full, so we chose 1pm. We had 6 people in our party. 3 adults, 1 teen and 2 kids ages 11 and 8. We were seated promptly. And drink orders taken. At $25 per person, you would assume that tea/soda would be included in the price. It wasn’t. That’s fine. We proceeded on to the buffet area (I really wish I had taken a photo). It was quite upsetting. Most of the containers were almost empty (just scraps of what should have been the Brisket left). No hummus left, no pita. We decided to try the turkey and gravy (which was bright yellow for some reason) there were No traditional sides to go with the turkey, which I found to be odd when advertised as Thanksgiving Buffet in South Carolina. The watermelon in the fruit salad was like a rock (my children refused to eat it, I don’t blame them) the potatoes were cold and soggy. Not crispy at all. And the Shrimp and grits…. The grits were COLD like they had come out of the refrigerator and were awful because of this. Everything looked like it had been ransacked and NOT replenished for the guests coming in at 1pm . It looked like we got the “left overs” and that everyone was pretty much over it by 1pm. This was VERY disappointing to my family and I, as this was what we had Planned for our Thanksgiving meal. Once a year. Dressed nice, and was greeted with left overs that were cold and unpleasant. The pastries were minimal and what was left of the 3 slices of pie were all broken on the counter. To have it advertised and described as a Thanksgiving buffet you would expect delicious, hot and welcoming. But it was not of that. For the price we paid Almost $200 I could have made a wonderful meal and had leftovers for days. Really upsetting to think this was what we spent so much money on and didn’t even enjoy it . And it certainly didn’t feel special or throughly. Very disappointed 😔. Maybe if would have been different if we came at 10.11.12… but everyone, no matter the reservation time, should get the same Caliber of foods, cleanliness and it should feel special on a holiday.

Sunday Brunch was not the quality we were expecting for 20$ per person. Most of the food was cold and underseasoned, and there were a lot of odd choices that we've not seen at other brunch spots. Food might be better on other days, but I would avoid sunday brunch hours. We did appreciate the quick service and clean tables.

The food is decent, being able to get it is the problem. I used to try to go here and i had stopped, didnt recall why. So recently I have tried to start going here to get baked goods and a breakfast sandwiches for my wife. I work a full time job, so that leaves the weekends, sundays they do ONLY brunch menu oh and the “bakery” is closed.
Then it never fails on saturday there always some kind of issue, this time it was well breakfast is over, but they are backed up so no lunch for 10 more minutes. It just never fails there always something. The bakery, doesn't have breads and generally only a few muffins. Its a very popular spot and the prices match. The general overall feel is that theres not any one thing particularly wrong with this place but there is always some kind of issue when going there. So its back on the dont bother list.

It was our first visit to The Village Bakery and Cafe in downtown Pendleton, SC. We enjoyed the fresh options and the generous portions. Our waitress was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. We enjoyed 2 sandwich plates with sides and a latte, all for under $30!! We'll definitely return soon.

The Village Bakery is such a cozy little spot—perfect for a chill vibe. We stumbled upon it thanks to a coupon from the Tri-County Attractions book, and they graciously accepted it for breakfast. My husband went for the biscuit sandwich with sausage, while I opted for the bagel sandwich with sausage. Both were loaded with two sausage patties and definitely hit the spot. The portion sizes were just right, too. They even had salt and pepper on the side if you like to spice things up a bit.

Our meals came out hot and crispy, just the way we like it. We couldn’t resist adding an iced hazelnut coffee, and let me tell you, it was pretty tasty! After placing your order at the café, you can stroll over to the bakery side and feast your eyes on a mouthwatering display of fresh pastries, muffins, and scones. If you’re looking for a quick breakfast in downtown Pendleton, this place is a solid choice!

I love this place for breakfast and lunch. And they deserve five stars.
But don't do their Sunday brunch.
If the Sunday brunch had been my 1st experience there, I probably would never have gone back.

This is by far the best bakery I’ve been at! Even after living in Austin Texas, and San Francisco, this bakery is something special! Try the chocolate cake and puffs ??
