Stopped off at this restaurant while traveling through to Savannah. Glad we did because the food was delicious. Good prices for healthy portions. Highly recommend the tacos but had so many other choices. Not overly busy during the dinner rush and had attentive service. Will return when in the area.
Service and food were great!!!!!

Al Chile is an absolute gem—one of those places you walk into expecting a good meal and walk out already planning your next visit. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The staff was incredibly friendly, even asking about the soccer club shirts we were wearing and striking up an easy, genuine conversation. It’s the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like you’ve been coming there for years.
And the food? Outstanding. The flavors are bold, fresh, and authentic—nothing feels watered down or generic. The star of the meal was the quesadilla gordo, which absolutely lives up to the name. Huge, loaded, and unbelievably delicious. It’s one of those dishes you think you’ll finish, then halfway through realize you’ve underestimated it—but you keep going because it’s that good.
Everything we tried tasted handmade and thoughtfully prepared, the kind of cooking that comes from tradition rather than trend. The menu has plenty to choose from, but you can tell there’s pride behind every dish.
Simply put, Al Chile stands out. It’s easily one of the best Hispanic restaurants I’ve ever experienced—authentic, flavorful, and full of heart. If you get the chance, go. You’ll be glad you did.

Server was nice. Outside eating area was nice. The food how ever was very bland. Not much flavor. Not much meat on the food.

Don’t eat here. Smell of bleach as you walk in was overwhelming- we should have left at that point , but it was too late and my kids were hangry. Chips and salsa came quick and weren’t bad. The fajitas tasted very chemically. I should have just done fast food, atleast I would have known what I was getting. Also- portions are small for the price. Hopefully we don’t get sick.

Driving through South Carolina, we were lucky to find a great Mexican restaurant named Al Chile Mexican Grill in Ridgeland. Warmly greeted by our server, Marcello,Jr., he offered us warm chips and salsa while we enjoyed a cocktail and browsed the menu. Taco salad for my companion and chicken fajitas for me. Both meals were made with fresh ingredients and served with a guacamole salad and rice and beans. Everything was delicious and there was plenty of food to take home. This is a small business that’s doing a great job serving delicious Mexican cuisine. For a Saturday afternoon, it was very busy and that’s a good indication that they treat you right. Please give them a try! You’re welcome!

Disappointing Service Overshadows Decent Food
After a long 10-hour drive, we were looking forward to authentic Mexican cuisine based on the promising photos and reviews online. Unfortunately, our Tuesday lunch experience was marred by inattentive service and billing issues.
The restaurant was quiet with only four tables occupied, and we were seated promptly. However, problems began immediately with our drink order. I ordered a small margarita, but my fiancé upgraded it to a large before the server left. When our drinks arrived, my fiancé also requested a Dos Equis.
The food itself was good—we ordered à la carte—but getting basic accompaniments proved unnecessarily difficult. We requested hot sauce and water refills, but our server never returned. A food runner eventually brought our meals, and we had to ask her for the items our server had forgotten.
The most frustrating part came at checkout. After we had to flag down our server for the bill and paid, he returned claiming he’d forgotten to charge us for a small margarita. My fiancé explained we had only ordered the large, not both sizes, but the server refused to acknowledge the miscommunication.
While the food met expectations, the inattentive service and unwillingness to correct a billing error left a sour impression. There are too many restaurants with both great food AND great service to settle for just one.
His burrito was so big, it sat on his shirt as well.
