Never been here and didn’t know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised.-Disclaimer:This is not the same “Dukes” as the chain of other restaurants.This seems to be a family owned place.First off, it’s buffet style. Don’t really see that much anymore, kind of nostalgic.Had several things to choose from on the hot bar and a cold bar. The food was really great! The chicken was amazing ??The folks working there were really nice and seemed to love working there. We were visiting but the locals/regulars came in and ate as well as to-go orders. They were very happy and excited to get their meals from there.Will visit here again when coming through.Also, yes they do take card. ?? ?Thanks!!
Ate here recently. The pulled pork was not hot but not cold. The hash was good. My major complaint was that the hush puppies were burned. I had read an earlier review which said the same thing but had hoped it was a one time problem. I would go back but will definitely steer clear of the hush puppies. As with most restaurants these days, they were short-staffed.

The food has gone down, down, down....but it is fine for a quick meal. Can't say I would recommend it, but it isn't horrible either.

The food at dukes is fantastic. We ate at the ridgeville location and I've never had better fried chicken or Mac and cheese ever, but everything was good. I tried a bit of everything and for $13 it's the best all you can buffet I've ever had. But definitely go early for the freshest food as the pork does start to dry out a bit under the heat lights. The sauces are amazing too. The one drawback is the setting. The building is so old and dirty. You can get take out which most people did while we were there but we did find a fairly clean table and were able to go back a few times for more food. It's clear the food is what keeps people coming here and there was a pretty consistent stream of people coming in and out while we were there. If the facility was better I'd give it five stars for the food.

Dukes BBQ is the best BBQ around. Me and the family go as often as we can. Ridgeville is a little out of the way but is well worth the drive. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the food. I never have a bad experience and cant wait to go back. Its always a good time to head to Dukes.

Interesting is the best way to describe this place. The food is very salty and the list of selections are short. Drinks are limited to two options, tea and lemonade. Hard to believe this is remotely close to the same Dukes as the one on James Island.
