This restaurant was recommended by my sister, who often frequents this establishment. My aunt ordered fried whiting sandwhich, and I ordered the chef salad with a side of fries. My aunts fried fish coating was mushy, and my chef salad was thrown together in the container; he was in a rush to make it, and it showed. There were clumps of cheese, large cucumbers and tomatoes unsliced, and no love shown in the preparation. We didn't even eat our meal. Moreover, the good thing was that I received a discount for paying cash but was charged a c.c.f. fee of 3.99% . When I questioned the cashier, she couldn't tell me what the fee represented. When I requested the manager, I was told that he didn't know the register. He happened to be preparing the food and overheard my inquiry and shouted that he was behind in his orders and didn't have the time. Yet, he spoke with another customer who had come in and joked about working out. I was outraged and left with my family and will never revisit.

It would really be nice if you were able to place an order over the phone without someone As soon as they answer the phone automatically saying will you please hold and never come back. I’ve attempted to call back four times and this has happened repeatedly.

I went to school in Spartanburg and we would visit The Beacon every now and then. The cheeseburger I had last night from Chicken King put The Beacon to shame! We will be back, I could taste the love in that cheeseburger!!! Thank you!

Godfather's cooking is the sh17. 😁 The place is always clean, you can't beat their prices, and their portions are so worth it. If you haven't had Chicken King, you're really missing out. I got the triple decker sandwich boy if this not something that could have made with Dollar tree meat and cheese, so disappointed!! Then the salad I can’t even explain. This was soooo disappointing. Food has way too much salt. Chicken was poor quality. I assume frozen because of how chewy it was. Fries were as crunchy as boiled noodle. Mac and cheese had no cheese. Cooks were talking about how they couldn’t wait to be done. Building inside and out is run down. Last time I was here, maybe 2 years ago.. it was 3-4 stars. Same cooks, so I have to assume they lost their love for what they do.

I order a hotdog and fries today from Chicken king and when I opened my box and started eating my lunch my fries were cold and the hotdog weenie was over cooked. Needless to say I will not go out of my to go back there.

I have been there several times I hear such good things about their food every time I've been my food has been some far undercooked onion rings chicken and the fish have no flavor Don't think I'll give it another shot undercooked hush puppies

The oil smell from the box smelled old and burned. The fish was awful and husbands heart attack sandwiches was under cooked and tough. We couldn’t eat anything but the fried. Don’t recommend eating there at all
