Twice per year I come here every other night for 3-4 weeks. I've been eating here for 6 years. The last three times I visited it was bad. The sushi counter was dirty (soy bottles stuck to the surface), the sake was incredibly bad (basically vinegar), and the sushi Maki was loose and light.
It's really disappointing when you find a place you can depend on for high grade sushi and quality sake only to see it go down hill so rapidly. In October I was disappointed and now in March I've been let down again.
Six months later I assumed they would have righted the ship but I'm sad to say that's not the case. I truly hope someone takes note of this honest review. Having worked in restaurants for a decade this feedback is genuine and motived solely by my hope they will use it to their benefit.

We go for my son's birthday every year. This year happened to fall on a busy Friday night. Chef was great. Food was great. BUT literally as soon as the chef was done cooking, and we had full plates of food, and full drinks, the busboy showed up with fresh plates for the next people. He then stood there where the chef stands, watching us eat our dinner, and waiting for us to hurry up and eat in order to clear off our FULL plates. SO incredibly rude!! Completely ruined the entire experience! Not appreciating the pressure to be rushed with him standing there staring at us, I took my food to go. Such a disappointment!!!

This was my first time visiting this hibachi place, and although the reviews say it isn't great, we gave it a chance because someone in the reviews convinced me to give it a try.
Just 2 of us went in with no reservation, and we're seated right away. A party of 6 joined us, and it was for an adult b day dinner. The service was very fast....almost too fast.
We ordered a sushi roll and then a hibachi dinner to share ... I went to the restroom after ordering, and 5 mins later, I returned to the cook already there and stirred the rice on the grill. Our sushi roll was there, and so were the salads along with the soup....all when I came back to the table...mere mins
Anyway, i love good and quick service but this type of restaurant charges more for the experience ...so i had hoped it would be better timed....serving drinks and then the sushi, a few mins should be plenty and then the salad and soup while they cook....
This was my only complaint, which was that I felt rushed to be done from the minute we sat down. I barely finished my food when they where clearing plates....literally a bust boy with a tub taking plates...you would think for this much money that a normal server would pick up plates as they go but this guy placed his dirty dish tub on the grill in front of us and literally watched us finish the last few bites of food and then immediately took our plates. When no one was ready to give up their plate, he stood and watched us eat....as this was taking place another person squeezed by the bust boy to give me the bill. I know they have a business to run and the name of the game is turning tables over but come on now....rushing people to the point of making them feel uncomfortable is no way to run a business either.
Okay, back to the good. The food was as good or better than Nakatos. The steak on the hibachi steak and shrimp combo was very tender and had nice flavor. The portions were good, and the salad was nice, but it has too much dressing, which I read was an ongoing thing in other reviews. It was drenched in dressing...
The soup was really good with a lot of flavor, but I'm one that likes it really hot, and it wasn't, but that's a pretty small thing that wouldn't bother most people.
Lastly, the veggies were good as far as seasoning but were very undercooked, in my opinion. The leftovers were really good today and also they did offer sweet carrots separate from the veggies but I didnt have those. Just thought someone else might want to know because everyone else seemed to like them at the table.
Oh, and the 10 second saki shot given to one person at the table by the chef was cool....that was something I had never seen other places do.
Our cook was nice and efficient however he was lackluster and didn't make eye contact so it was hard to understand or hear him at times.
I would recommend asking for a reservation if you have more than 2 people in your party because when we left at 615pm the place was packed....this was on a Friday evening.
Kid-friendliness: There were lots of kids of all ages and they do have high chairs.

I’ve ordered food from here plenty of times and it’s always been good. Tonight I wanted to eat in the restaurant and called to make a reservation. I was told that I didn’t need one and to just come in. Once I arrived I was told there was a 30 minute wait. I sat for over a hour and a half waiting for a table. I would just recommend the business to let people make reservations without having to have 5 people.
Service was horrible and they only give you 1 hour to eat and will stand and stare at you until you get up and leave. Never go if you have a bday group. Make the drive to Charlotte and get the service you pay for.

Despite the poor reviews on this restaurant we gave it a try and I have to say we were pleasantly surprised with the level of service!
Our server was amazing, always on top of drinks and clearing dishes.
Our chef was funny, and cooked the food well.
The only complaint I have was our sushi took a while to come out and when it did the sauce on it was drenched onto the roll. It was okay but I probably won't order it again.
Back to the good. I have been to many a hibachi place and I have seen lots of places that deserve poor ratings and this one doesn't.
Ignore all the bad and come get some good food!!

They don’t tell you that if you order online the jack the prices up and take extra money out of your account. And then told me that bc I ordered my food through the company they use, but bc I did it online and not the app, that the extra 14 dollars it charged me is just for the fun of it. And no you can’t get your money back. Poor excuse of taking responsibility for their error.

My husband has been waiting for almost 2 hours for our food that I ordered WAY in advance. They said the kitchen is “backed up” I don't Believe that for a second considering everytime we go inside to sit and eat there are 4 or 5 employees standing around.. this is ridiculous

This has became absolutely disgusting! I order steak and shrimp excited for my food after a long day of work. Cook came out seemed like he didn't care to even be there. Everything was fine until I seen the meat quality. The steak was thinner dry wall chicken looked like it had been sitting for hours very slimy looking. Food made it to my plate ok awesome, first bite of steak I spit it out in disgust. Very chewy and tasted like rubber. The shrimp tasted like it came straight out the sea! Was also over cooked. The portions are very off also. I got more rice and noodles than meat by far! I will never ever step back into this establishment. BRING BACK SAKURA!!!
