Just, wow wow wow. The mouthfeel of the (plain) croissant is truly incredible, and immediately I wonder- why can't all croissants be like this? As I was transported to Les boulangeries dans le Champs-Élysées with each bite- savory, airy, and yet firm all at the same time. The amount of time, passion, and attention to detail for only the best. trust me when I say, you will never have a croissant as voluptuous as the ones at MADO.
This is the best coffee/dessert stop in Rock Hill. I just found this gem today. Pastry chefs have skills. Everyone so nice. 11 out of 10.
Every single bite of food we’ve ever had from Mado has been incredible and the coffee is so, so good. On top of fantastic treats and drinks, the service is top notch. Go early to make sure you get the full selection of yummy goodies. You will not be disappointed!
Delicious!!! You can tell the amount of care they put into their food and they’re always nice 😊
They have the best spiced chai.
Love all of their baked goods.
I absolutely love this place! The pastries are pricey but they're worth it, authentic European pastries are hard to find here.
I am super disappointed though, that there's no pastries left most of the time when I come after 2:00PM. I've only had a chance to try one muffin so far. I really hope Serge figures out a way to have food there for us in the late afternoon. It was super disappointing to see pastries that would only be available for the next day. Maybe you can make some basic snacks available? Packaged cookies that can survive a shelf life of a couple days? Basic croissants that will always be available for anyone who comes in at the end of the day before you close? I'm not a coffee person, I'm not going to be coming in the mornings, and I don't enjoy drinking without something small to eat if I plan on hanging out over there for a while. Also, there were not many hot tea options for me. I'd really appreciate seeing more food and drink options in the afternoons. And also, smaller, less fancy and more affordable desert and snack options in the late afternoon. If you find a way to offer me that, I'll consider coming to visit on a regular basis.
The croissants are okay, but nothing special. There's far better options in Charlotte.
At least the staff was really nice!
For a place that charges over $12 for a pastry the food is unremarkable. Compared to Renaissance or Chez Marie in Charlotte the prices are 50% more with taste not even being half as good. Avoid.
It looks unassuming on the outside, but TRUST the reviews. I’ve been all around France, and this is the most accurate French bakery in the US. Get the crème brûlée, you’ll thank me :) Also has a bank vault inside if you care!
This place is amazing and tucked right in Rock Hill! Highly, highly recommend. Chef’s kiss 💋

Came there 5 mins before 3 and the African guy said sorry we’re close . When the sign said 3 . Soooooo thankful for his unwillingness to do his job because I found “Amélie's French Bakery & Café” right downtown Rock Hill & Ill never go no where else for now on, they have the BEST Desserts in the world !!! Please Go There!! Thank me later!!

AMAZING!! The best bakery I have ever been to!! The croissants are so buttery and flaky and have this kinda crispy bite into it 🥐 (my dog kept sniffing it the whole way home haha!) And the caramel frappe is the best I’ve had! I’m a classic girlie so I usually get a caramel frappe or latte at any coffee place and this place totally beats like Starbucks or Dunkin! It’s not as loaded up with sugar but still sweet and not watered down at all! 10/10 And the owners are so sweet and welcoming the whole atmosphere is so warm and friendly I love it ❤️🤍💙

This is truly a French bakery/café operated by a beautiful family making an outstanding treat, and it is. The croissant is perfect if you know what to expect from a French croissant. The lemon tart is very well done. Light and fluffy with a very consistent lemon cream, yet rich with a nice lemon bite, and the Pâte Sablée (tart crust) tries very hard to be the star. I also got the strawberry tart and the creme brulee, and I'm sure they'll stand up to the croissant and lemon tart. A true 5 star French bakery.
