Thyme It's not the most prevalent spice in Latin cuisine. In fact, it's rare that you would even taste it. But thyme has been well incorporated into both the fried, and roasted chicken served at Pollos Camperos. I've never heard of pollos camperos, until today. And since it was right next door to my hotel, I decided I would stop in and give it a try. I ordered 4 pieces of chicken. Two fried and two baked. And my two sides were coleslaw and beans. I also ordered two empanadas, which only come in chicken flavor. Both the roasted and fried chicken were delicious! But I think the roasted chicken was better than the fried. But not by much. Both were moist, juicy, and delicious. My personal opinion is that the thyme flavor just goes better with roasted chicken then it does with fried. The beans were very basic. Not a lot of flavoring. If they had added celery seed to the coleslaw, it would have tasted exactly like KFC. The role was just basic. I thought it was going to be Hawaiian bread, but ........ And the empanadas were delicious! Maybe not the best i've ever had. But they were excellent! Overall this meal was delicious. While being completely different than anything i've ever had before. Definitely worth a try. I would suggest that you don't go in expecting typical fried or roasted chicken.

Me and my daughter were craving some southern food and we didn’t want the usual fast food options and my sister told me about this place and when I say the chicken had flavor OMG!!!! If you’re craving some good southern cuisine give em a try.

We must have gotten there after the rush hour because I REALLY wanted their horchata but it was all gone and they were cleaning the machines. I almost cried. As we were eating they made a personal batch just for me. Great service, great staff!
