I ordered from here on 6-4-25 between 8:30 to 8:45pm. I had a 4 piece dinner all legs with two chuck wagon sandwiches. The sandwiches were good aside from the bread being cold and unheated, but the chicken was absolutely horrible. Bland with no seasoning and not freshly cooked. I love eating here because its convenient and fairly priced, but after last nights experience I have my doubts on returning.

This is a classic spot in RH. Been open for 60 years. Seafood is freshly prepared (fried) and the tartar sauce is legit. Pay no mind to the bland decor - this spot is the real deal. I dined with my HS bestie. We far overstayed our welcome catching up but we were checked frequently and every request promptly accommodated.

We placed a to go order for the Whiting Sandwhixh Combo, was enjoyed, and the Steak Sandwhich and fried mushrooms. The steak sandwich was good but small, and fried mushrooms were good but a little too much breading. We will be back to try other items like fried chicken gizzard (not for me) and pork chop sandwhich w/Onion Rings (for me).

The College disc Golf team loves to come out here they just walked in here one day. They told the Oregon team that the Shrimp Boat was amazing in 2024 and there whole team went. Eli and I had never had shrimp boat so it was an experience.

My original wait time after ordering online was 20-30 minutes, which was fine. I ended up waiting almost an hour, for two plates. I was there about 35-40 mins to see shift change and the cook leave. So I’m curious how I ordered and arrived, waited that long, see the cook leave, and wait an additional 15-20 minutes before receiving my food. The chicken breast was tough and over cooked. Fish plate was okay. Not to say every visit is the same, but this was hugely disappointing.

I grew up eating Shrimp Boats one of a kind chicken in Lancaster and this isnt it. Taste nothing at all even near what I grew up on in Lancaster or what I've eaten in the past on Heckle. The Cherry Road location is a disgrace to the shrimp boat name. Fry's tasted like they have been sitting for hours, everything tasted like it had been fried in oil that hadn't been changed out in months, staff was in the back cursing loudly, trash all over the floor, and I had to wait an extra amount of time because I got told the first pork chop they dropped to cook for me was bad. I immediately threw the pork chop in the trash when I got home. Spent almost $50 on the meal and threw it all in the trash. Stay away from this place. I don't even know how they're able to stay open. They should be shut down before they get someone sick or kill them with tainted food. I would rather eat chicken from a gas station then go to this place again.

The service was not good and they seem to be short of help or either they just did not care. I have ordered here many times before in the past and the service and food was GREAT! BUT yesterday (4/1/25) the service was awful! We waited over 45 minutes for our food, which did come out hot. The waitress did not ask to refill our drinks. I had to go to the front just to ask for service, only to be ignored again. I was highly disappointed when I left. If I go again, I’ll get my food to-go because dining in was a disaster!
I stay lancaster came here because we no longer have one in lancaster sc . Got two to go plate one flounder with a side order of shrimp . 2nd one a whiting with fantail shrimp got home only for the flounder plate to taste like some dumped a whole box of salt on it from now on it s only dine in . Cause why would I pay over $30,something dollars for a plate that is not even edible and by the time I get in my car to drive back they will be closed

Loved coming here to eat about once a week. They have some really good fried chicken and the hot and sticky sauce is legit magical. The wonderful service always bring us our food with a smile and checking up on us as we eat. Good chicken and good vibes in this place.
