Always usually great food but today's BBQ had WAY too much fat. I've been to other places that chop up the fat in their BBQ but it's a big turnoff. I've never had it this way at Lone Star and hope this isn't the way they're going to continue preparing it. We'll have to move our group meetings elsewhere if so.

Step back 150 years into a post office and general store repurposed into a pleasant dining experience. The all-you-can-eat food is very good.Well worth a visit.

First time at Lone Star and will definitely be back. Went on Friday for all you can eat ribs, which were great. Their fried Chicken was amazing as well. A buffet dinner that you can cycle through as many times as you wish.Highly recommend!

Staying in Santee S.C. for the week.Looking for a good place to eat.The Resort recommended this BBQ restaurant. So we decided to give it a try.It definitely is not a disappointment. This was the best BBQ we have had. It's a buffet so you get to choose what you want to eat.You can't go wrong with your choice.Pulled pork. Fried chicken. Hush puppies.Cold slaw. Potato salad. Many more choices. You definitely will not leave there hungry. The price is so reasonable for so many options to choose from. You can go back for more.I would definitely recommend anyone staying in Santee or just passing by on I95 to check it out.You can't go wrong.Make sure you check out all the rest of the rooms attached to the restaurant. It will definitely bring back a lot of old memories.Things you probably haven't seen since you were a little kid.Parking: Plenty of parking around the restaurant.

This was a hidden gem for sure!! It's an eclectic looking building with a random variety of items to purchase, local I would guess, which was already cool. The building is a combination of other buildings that you just want to explore, but on the inside, most are open for dining. And I would imagine in peak season, they need the space! The buffet was delicious, affordable, with beverages included in the price! Service was great, too! They make up your plate for you, fill your drinks, and even bus your table. Conveniently located right outside of Santee State Park or near the Santee National Golf Course, it's an easy trip to make no matter why you are in town!! The buffet is Southern Comfort foods at their best, BBQ, collards, fried fish, veggies, etc and it gets an additional items for dinner. Check it out if you're in the area!!

This is a very authentic place and I am glad I finally was able to route through and make a stop here. The staff is amazing, we were able to chat for a short moment and share a few stories. I also liked the ambiance and the "retro" feel to it.The food felt fresh and simple. Due to my dietary requirements I was unable to try everything, but I managed to try a bit of most and it tasted great. At $16 per person it is a much better and healthier choice on I-95 than McD or Arby's.Definitely will be stopping here again - I live on I-95 so it's good to know there's a place with a good food and a warm welcome.

Took a nice motorcycle ride to this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. The history of the buildings was very interesting. The atmosphere was laid-back. The food was good southern comfort food foo. There was a long line, but they were very quick to serve the food in the buffet line and see us. I would definitely visit again.

Literally a must go to if you are in the area! Everything about this place is absolutely amazing! The staff, the atmosphere, the food! Phenomenal! I would drive out of my way to stop at this place! $18 buffet is more than worth it. Catfish, fried chicken and the banana pudding is to die for. Do not overlook this diamond in the rough!

Located in Santee, about 1.5 miles up hwy 6 off the I95 interstate. The short 5 minute detour of any trip is worth visiting this off the beaten path, country cafe. The buffet is always full of a mix of good southern style food. It's a quiet atmosphere with an at home feel. Out front, there are also some life-size animal statues for all to enjoy.Vegetarian options: Plenty of veggies

This family and employees are definition of southern hospitality. Willing to share history of the buildings and history of the business. Met Michael who is the younger man learning the business and proud off his of his family's legacy. Keep your head up and and learn that sauce recipe. Great value and price. WILL BE BACK.Ps. Try the bbq.Parking: PlentyKid-friendliness: Kids were amazed by the building and the candy vending machine
