First visit to Sole, the 2 of us were seated quickly at a table for 8 in a side room with an open broom closet and bright spotlights. The restaurant is very unattractive inside from what we could tell. We ordered a couple of popular rolls and I would say that sushi is not their strong suit. One roll was somewhere between a sliced roll and a hand roll. So many have cream cheese in them or a sweet sauce or are fried. I got the salmon entree over grits. The salmon was very good. The grits are very bad. We also got the garlic mashed potatoes on another entree which had enormous uncooked chunks of garlic. Everything reeked of garlic on the plate. Even the veggies. We got our bill paid right as a table of about 15 people were seated in this broom closet side room with us. Whew.

I've eaten here many times and tonight was very disappointing. The rice used in the nigiri and the fireside rolls fell apart when picked up and tasted stale. Very unusual.

We went here over the weekend and the selection of sushi was great and fresh! We sat outside on the patio and it was a great weather day! They had big fans which kept flies away and they had nice outdoor patio furniture to sit at as well! They also had a surprising menu of non sushi options too which we didn’t know. We had an appetizer of sweet potato chips with a maple drizzle and cinnamon and sugar on it! We also really enjoyed the 4 rolls we had: Clemson sunrise, Augusta, volcano, and the Carolina roll! Oh and for desert the chocolate cake was great and the perfect size serving. One of the other people in our group had the key lime pie and said it was quite possibly the best he’d ever had!

What’s so sad is that we used to love coming here. But the past few times coming to have dinner here has been way less than expected and less than the usual experiences. Today; we called for a table of 4 and were told the wait over the phone was 20mins if we gave them our info, so we did and arrived 5 mins after that. We weren’t sat until close to 45 mins after we got there when the place wasn’t even busy, it was steady. Upon being sat we waited close to 10 mins before even being greeted, which my husband had to go inside and ask the whereabouts of our waitress and the hostess was rude in her response. The manager came out and apologized and swore our server was “the best and most attentive”. We proceeded with the night, longer story short, the service was sub par, drinks were not ordered, left empty, and some items that were specifically asked for had to be brought out by the manager because our server forgot them and was not even the one delivering our dinner. It was all around a disappointing experience, and sad to say it wasn’t the first time something like this has happened. Hopefully Sole can turn things around and get staff that actually cares about the customer base and does their job attentively with better attitudes.

Tried the chefs special: a Peach Gin drink and a Crunchy Roll. Attentive staff, tasty food, open seats on a Saturday because of how large of a space it is- different areas to sit including outside and private room for parties.

This was my first time eating at Solé. I love shrimp and grits. Most restaurants cannot make stone grits, but Solé has definitely mastered the art of making them!!! This was the best shrimp and grits that I've had!!!
