Shortfields Simpsonville

After recent health inspection I'm sorry to hear all the violations very sad we really enjoyed the food. I hope all these violations are corrected. Not many restaurants to choose from in downtown simpsonville

This place was fantastic the first time we went 2 years ago. It’s not close by so we don’t think to go there often but decided to try it again about 6 weeks ago. The entire place was filthy. The floors were grubby and sticky. Our booth (both seats and table) was sticky and not cleaned well at all from the previous customers. Our middle aged waitress was 110% more interested in the middle aged dude that looked like a regular sitting at the bar. Mind you, we were only 2 of 6 customers total at that time. Maybe she was having a bad day but she sure seemed perky and nice to the old guy… Our food took forever and when we got it, it was NOTHING like our first experience. My husband’s fish and chips were incredibly soggy and reeked of old/used oil. The “chips” had the exact same issue. My LUKEWARM coleslaw (I get nauseous still thinking about it) had a CHEESE PULL. Literally the mayo was so old and nasty it pulled and stretched as if it were melted mozzarella cheese. It was the most bizarre thing to see - mayonnaise leaving a stretchy string from my bowl to my fork 🤢🤮
Just found out today they got a 72 health rating which is appalling and, quite frankly, HUMILIATING for the owners, management and employees at this place. Makes total sense though from how disgusting our last visit was. Go ahead and Google it for details.
We will NEVER be going to Shortfield’s again and we’d give this place a 0 if we could.

Nice, diner-style restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was great. We had the burger with tater tots, and the fish & chips. All were served hot and were very good. The fish was flaky and lightly breaded, the fries were the type with some kind of coating that makes them crispy (not my favorite type of fries). The burger was huge, cooked to order, and piping hot. Tater tots were standard variety. Good place for an American dinner and affordable prices. Recommended.

When we came to Simpsonville we couldn’t decide which place to get in, then we googled it and decide for Shortfields. We love the place, nice 80 music, the server was super attentive, food was completely amazing!!! We start with a creamy spinach dip, very big portion with a crispy salty pita bread (can’t decide which thing was better, because you can also eat the pita by itself) … then we get the main dishes my boyfriend loved the tater tots and my cordon blue was just on point, delicious sides of new potatos and asparagus… we will definitely come back, now we have a new favorite place close to home !!!

I went to this restaurant with about 20 people from work... restaurant has a private area for groups the waitress and staff did an excellent job taking our orders keeping our checks separate and getting the food out in a timely and accurately all of our meals were delicious no one complained

Surprised my husband and myself as the service was great and the food was fantastic. Will do this again. Hamburger was AMAZING! Medium Rare was medium rare and fat and tasted sooo good. Fries were battered and fried, my favorite way!

Short fields has a laid-back, hometown feel with good comfort food! They have a bar with a happy hour and lots of TVs playing sports. Their staff was very kind. The food was fresh with huge portions.

I do agree with some of the other reviews that the establishment could use some updates. Our booth was incredibly tight and uncomfy for example. I was also disappointed to realize there was a 3 to 3.5% (I can’t remember the exact percentage) fee for using a card which seems crazy in 2024.

Please be advised there is a 3 1/2% service charge for using a credit card, but it doesn’t say that anywhere on the door or on the menu.
They have a dollar off domestic drafts during happy hour, but evidently Sam Adams is not considered domestic since it’s brewed in Boston, Massachusetts
First burger came out overcooked

The fried oyster appetizer was very nice in the French onion. Soup was good.

We enjoy the food here and service is good - slow last night but they were busy which is GREAT to see! However this place needs a MAJOR OVERHAUL. Filthy sticky menus, dirty sticky floor and booths with cracked peeling vinyl. Sure hope they can do a renovation soon.

Very rude, manager. Hostess was rude slamming down receipts and no itemize receipts and $12 for one slice of cheesecake!

I love both locations of this place! and you KNOW i love a spicy mayo drizzle
