Shortfields Simpsonville

Shortfields catered my best friend’s wedding, and they were absolutely outstanding! Garnet went above and beyond—she met us at the venue earlier in the week, helped plan the entire reception layout, and even rolled up her sleeves to move tables so everything would flow smoothly. On the wedding day, she worked tirelessly to make sure every detail was perfect.

The team she brought was equally amazing. They served passed hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour, had a carving station, plus three other stations that made it easy for guests to mingle and enjoy the food. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious.

Guests raved about the food all night, and it was clear how much care went into every detail. Shortfields has a wonderful catering menu, and I would absolutely recommend them for any special event—especially weddings!

I was going to eat there for lunch today and noticed they have a C rating...i looked up prior food ratings and this seems to be a frequent problem.

We were there tonight and I just wanted to say thank you. My 12 year old didn't like what she ordered and you were kind enough to replace it. What you didn't know is that she spent the majority of this past year unable to eat normally due to a chronic condition called eosinophilic esophagitis. She struggles daily. You were kind and I appreciate it. The fish and chips was delicious! Forever customers.

One of the most disappointing places we’ve been. Everything tastes frozen and bland. There’s just no flavor on any of the items. This is definitely a place people come to drink and talk rather than just eat.

They also got hit with some gross violations by the health department which may contribute to the food issues

I would not recommend this place. I ordered a $38 steak Medium rare. I did not get a medium rare steak. And the steak look like something that come A grocery store. It was a very cheap steak and chewy.

My son ordered A chicken Alfredo priced at $18. When we got the chicken Alfredo, it was missing Alfredo. It was just pasta and butter.

I complained to the manager, who was very nice. She took $15 off the steak And gave us the chicken Alfredo free.

It was clear that the staff of this restaurant had several shortcomings. A restaurant that serves premium priced items should have premium food. This is not the case here.

After recent health inspection I'm sorry to hear all the violations very sad we really enjoyed the food. I hope all these violations are corrected. Not many restaurants to choose from in downtown simpsonville

This place was fantastic the first time we went 2 years ago. It’s not close by so we don’t think to go there often but decided to try it again about 6 weeks ago. The entire place was filthy. The floors were grubby and sticky. Our booth (both seats and table) was sticky and not cleaned well at all from the previous customers. Our middle aged waitress was 110% more interested in the middle aged dude that looked like a regular sitting at the bar. Mind you, we were only 2 of 6 customers total at that time. Maybe she was having a bad day but she sure seemed perky and nice to the old guy… Our food took forever and when we got it, it was NOTHING like our first experience. My husband’s fish and chips were incredibly soggy and reeked of old/used oil. The “chips” had the exact same issue. My LUKEWARM coleslaw (I get nauseous still thinking about it) had a CHEESE PULL. Literally the mayo was so old and nasty it pulled and stretched as if it were melted mozzarella cheese. It was the most bizarre thing to see - mayonnaise leaving a stretchy string from my bowl to my fork 🤢🤮
Just found out today they got a 72 health rating which is appalling and, quite frankly, HUMILIATING for the owners, management and employees at this place. Makes total sense though from how disgusting our last visit was. Go ahead and Google it for details.
We will NEVER be going to Shortfield’s again and we’d give this place a 0 if we could.

I would try just about everything on the menu. I have eaten here multiple times and never disappointed. Let's eat.
