I had such a great experience at Tamarindo in Simpsonville! I ordered the skirt steak with rice and beans, and it was cooked perfectly — tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The rice and beans were fresh and seasoned just right, the perfect comfort pairing for the steak.

I also enjoyed a cocktail that was spot-on — balanced, refreshing, and beautifully presented. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy the meal.

Definitely recommend Tamarindo if you’re looking for a place with delicious food, great drinks, and a welcoming vibe. I’ll be back! The service was absolutely fantastic 💯

I had a very disappointing experience at Tamarindo Latin Cuisine in Simpsonville, SC. After being seated, it took 30 minutes for our waiter to come take our order. Once she finally did, we waited another 10 minutes just to get water and silverware. This level of service is unacceptable, especially when the restaurant wasn’t even that busy. I won’t be returning.

Our encounter in this restaurant was awesome! It felt like lunch with family! During lunch, as I stepped away from the table, the gentleman that was serving us, played a big part in planning a special dish for a surprise birthday celebration! The lunch that we had that day & the special dish made was a great hit in both places! So many wanted to know, who made the rice & beans dish! Sorry there is no picture of the large pan of rice, prepared for 50; the pan was clean by the end dinner! You want to have great food, get to Tamarindo Latin Cuisine off Main Street, in Simpsonville, SC!

They really hit a grandslam with this place. Great authentic Dominican cuisine and their service was top notch as well.
Edit - July 6, 2025. Visited this place again after having had a great experience 2 years ago. Sad to say that while the food was still good, we had to wait over an hour to get our food after we sat down, and they messed up and forgot a couple of the orders. Hopefully it was just a glitch because it would be a shame to let this place get bad reviews because of their lack of personnel.

In all my life have ever had such great Caribbean cuisine as a I've had traditionally from farm to table .. we ordered grouper it's best by far compared traditional home cuisines

We arrived around 7:45 and were the first at the door, another party walked in after us but the host chose to greet and prioritize that party, even after that party pointed out that we were there first. I should have left at that point but we were eventually seated.

Unfortunately, the service didn’t improve from there. The other party was seated after us, got their food, ate, and left before our meal was even brought to the table. We asked about our food when they were leaving, and the host simply said, “I’m sure they’re working on it.” Only after we asked to pay for our drinks so we could leave did the food finally arrive.

While the food itself tasted good, my order wasn’t even correct. Between the dismissive service and the long wait, this was an extremely frustrating experience. We won’t be coming back.
