Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

The biscuits are one of my reasons for eating at Cracker Barrel. In the past when served, they most always were soft, fresh and tasted home made like they were straight out of the oven. Yesterday while eating at the Summerville, SC location we found that the biscuits were very dry and hard . We asked the server if we could possibly get some fresh biscuits because the ones we were served and ate were dry and hard. She explained to us that Cracker Barrel now receives them frozen . She explained that The biscuits are put in the oven and then served. She also said she could bring more, but they would be the same because that’s the way they are now served. My Wife who dined with me had ordered the chicken tender meal. The chicken meat and batter were so dry that the tenders had been over fried and possibly microwaved.She chocked and had a coughing spell trying to swallow the dry battered chicken meat. My meal portion seemed much smaller than I anticipated.In the past I have never left Cracker Barrel hungry, but yesterday was disappointing to say the least.

Just spent $12.50 on a takeout order for breakfast. Where's the rest of my food & why is my biscuit thrown in the same bag as the jelly??!! I'm trying to post pictures.

Just spent $47 +tip because my grand-babies wanted pancakes w/strawberries. Had to order from the adult menu bcuz kids' menu does not include strawberries on anything. Third time doing pick up& they can never find my order. So, by the time they do, it's ice cold! Syrup was in portion cups. So, there wasn't enough for 3 orders of pancakes & French toast with strawberries.

Our waitress was very attentive. She remembered us from a previous visit. The Steak Tips were tender and flavorful. The Shrimp and Grits were very good.

Best breakfast I've had in awhile! Good service and very pleasant server who checked on us several times to refill our coffee and check if we needed anything. Very pleasant experience! Summerville store is awesome!

We came in to place a take out order. I got meatloaf with green beans and loaded mashed potatoes and also a stack of pancakes. I honestly should’ve taken a photo as soon as I opened the container but I didn’t. The meatloaf was completely burnt and hard at the top with little to no tomato sauce. The food was cold and there were no condiments or silverware for the pancakes. I’m not sure if this occurred because it was close to closing but I was highly disappointed. I was already home in Ladson so it was too late to take my food back so I just removed the whole top of the meatloaf which only left a few bites. As far as the pancakes, they weren’t good at all, it had a hint of salt as if the same batter used for the cornbread was also used for the pancakes which we typically really enjoy their pancakes. We barely ate one and left the other two. We usually enjoy patronizing Cracker Barrel but lately the quality of food has greatly decreased and we more than likely won’t be returning. As far as the service, the employee with the shaved sides and Mohawk hairstyle shouldn’t follow customers around while shopping for items in the store as if something was being stolen, not appreciated at all.

They barely gave me a scoop of macaroni in my 5 take home meal. I compared to my spouse and it was barely there? Our server was great, but I paid 5 dollars to not get even a scoop.

The waitress was very friendly. I ordered rainbow trout. It was undercooked so I asked the waitress to return it. Most times I order the same dish, and several times I’ve had the same problem. I took advantage of the 60% clothing on clearance. I’m pleased with my purchase.

Parking: Not enough handicap accessible parking. The lot is always full, because it’s shared by hotel patrons next door.

The service was good from the hostess to the waitress to cashier. However, the food was not what would be expected. Very disappointed in the food I was served. The pinto beans were so overcooked, they literally stuck to the fork even holding the fork upside-down.

As a follow-up, I've also made a notation to the customer relations link in the reply from the restaurant. Maybe the team will work together to get back to their old standards to make their customers feel like eating in a comfortable, homestyle environment.

They told me that I could not sit at a turn table or section of the restaurant which I didn't understand why and then when I sit where they asked me to I had to even ask for a menu it was pretty much tossed at me before I could even open it they were rushing me to order I was morning to order steak and they told me no the only thing I could order was a burger and told me that they were cleaning the grill and didn't even want to make it like they were rushing me this was at 9 PM never have I been to a restaurant where I have been treated so rudely
