This place is very clean . The food and staff were excellent. I love they have outside and inside dining, and also the bar is inside but raps around to the outside. The decor was done so well that it helped with the overall experience . I would definitely go back.

I just wanted to take a second and thank our server for giving us such a great experience! We were out to eat with our two year old, she hasn’t ate a bite of her dinner for two weeks. We have done every tip, trick, seen feeding therapist this child was stressing me out with dinner! I told my hubby if I cooked one more meal that she spit out I was gonna cry lol so we decided to grab dinner at Taco Boy! Now I fully expected this child to pull her entire “I don’t yike it!” Routine and when they put down the fried chick peas I told her it was nuts I know I know but I figured worse case she would spit them out. She inhaled half the bowl! She even ate more than half of her dinner! To say I was ecstatic was an understatement and the entire time our server was just so attentive and kind. I had asked him when we were leaving what they were and explained to him this entire long story lol he brought us a big container full of them and when I say I was holding back mama tears I was holding them back. I wish I could remember his name but I can’t say enough great things about the service we got tonight and how kind he was! Thank y’all seriously from the bottom of our hearts! My daughter the entire ride home repeatedly told me they were her crunchies ?

After a disappointing encounter at the Folly Beach location, we decided to give Taco Boy another chance, this time at their Nexton venue. I must say, it was a delightful turnaround. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. Our server, Lance, truly embodied the essence of excellent customer service. Not only was he personable, but he also went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was exceptional. We will be back!

Had to clean a table with many available. No complimentary chips and salsa as we are used to. Taco and quesadillo very bland with no sauce, sour cream, pico de gallo or jalapeños. (Extras we are used to in southwest). Not bad, just bland. The margaritas must of been perfectly mixed because there was no tequila taste. If you havent had real mexican food maybe you will like this elementary menu. We are still looking for GREAT mexican in the low country.

Taco Boy used to be my go to date night. My husband and I went, along with our 3 month old. The waitress was very pleasant. However, after watching 3 tables who came in after us receive their food before us and waiting 45 minutes, I asked the waitress if our food had begun to be cooked and if not could we go ahead and get the check as it was taking entirely too long. The response was no, they had not begun to cook our 2 quesadillas. I don’t know what happened but the wait, other people getting their food and waiting shorter times, not having mild salsa and the margaritas not being as good as they used to be, we’re on the lookout for a new date spot. Paid $40 and ending up at Taco Bell instead unfortunately.

This used to be one of my favorite places to visit both downtown and SV. Menu has changed, prices have increased and quality of food has decreased. Lettuce was wilted, quesadillas soggy and 85% cheese, queso warm not hot. However, our server was very friendly and provided great service.

Update: After leaving the review the restaurant reached out and went above and beyond to make up for the bad experience. We appreciate the immediate response and action taken to address the issues and the experience we had.Original post: Took almost an hour to get 5 tacos for lunch with less than a half full restaurant. The manager came over at one point and said there was a glitch in the system and our food was delayed. They also didn’t have bitters at the bar to make our mezcal old fashioned’s. We have several bottles of bitters at home so how a bar runs out I have no idea. Food was tasty but not worth an hour wait. Waitress was nice enough but not very attentive, almost like she was worried about food coming out so slow. When we got the bill they did nothing to try and make up for the wait time. Took nothing off the bill which would’ve been a nice gesture but we weren’t surprised. If you want OK food with an extremely long wait and to try and walk on greasy floors, this is the place for you. If the management would’ve tried to show some actual remorse about the delay, that would have gone a long way.

This location in Summerville used to be great a year ago. The management has declined and they are a hit or miss situation . They continue to be out of supplies so don’t bank on them having menu items (ie .. tuna birria). They also close portions of the restaurant off due to being short staffed. They don’t have a consistent recipe for the margaritas . It’s been shady recently by far.

Went there for the third time in last few months to find a 40 minute wait for a table at a half empty restaurant. Every time we go, we’re told it’s a “kitchen delay.” Love the tacos, but this place has been terrible. Hire more people for Pete’s sake. Not going back any time soon unless the management gets its act together.

Good ambiance and quality servers can't overcome the poor food quality and horrendous parking access of this potentially good restaurant. We had the quesadillas. So very disappointed. The management would do well to visit Cantina 76 restaurant on Devine Street in Columbia to compare quesadilla (not parking). Please. Do this and do everyone a favor. Your customers will love you for it and your profits will certainly improve. Best wishes on a brighter future!
