Tropical Smoothie Cafe

Today I had a long day at work and I was pretty sweaty to be honest and wanted a smoothie and something to eat, I chose to pick this place because I never tried it before!
I was greeted by a young girl with pins on her hat which I found amazing because I don’t see that now and days but anyways!!!
It was pretty slow and no one beside the girl in pins said “Heeelllllooooo” with a smile! I started my order on two different smoothies which was a mango one and blueberry one, but then she paused me and asked me if I would like a ice water since I was sweaty, I replied to be honest with you “I NEED WATER” as a joke, She smiled at that and went to go get me water and came back to continue my order which I got a chicken chipotle flatbread for my meal, it was a bit to pricey but I paid for it and with a smile she said “everything will be out shortly” she made the smoothies while the cook made my food.
I sat at the bar to see what’s going on and man she was so fast with the smoothie and made sure they where not to icy and not to watery but just right for me.
Once I got everything she said “if there’s anything wrong lemme know I got ya” and went on cleaning. I told her I’ll be back for sure and I will be getting the same smoothies, just hope she has better people to work with or someone needs to talk to them about it or being on their phones!

First time trying this place. Extremely disappointed with their service. After receiving the wrap I ordered I had to wait another 10 more minutes for my smoothie. I watched as the workers made the smoothies for people who placed app orders who were not even there, but weren’t making my smoothie while I sat there at the counter.
Will not be returning and would not recommend.

So today I was greeted by Ashley today. it was pretty busy since it was the Fan Fest every day. All week thing going on, she told me she would be right with me once she was done with helping someone else out which I replied "take your time, I have nowhere to go" she smiled and laughed at my little joke. Once she was done, she helped me out! I told her I've never been to this place and asked if she could help me what to get! she asked me if I was allergic to anything so she could let them know to change everything. I giggled and said nope. She smiled and said "Well ma'am my fav food here is a plain salad with carrots and green onions and ranch and a bit of spinach' I was a bit scared of trying something like that and told her and she told me "trust me, you might like it but if not I can make you a different salad" I said I'll give it a try! then asked her what her fav smoothie is so I could try that too, she smiled and said "my favorite is the blueberry bliss with non-fat yogurt' I got everything she liked so maybe when I come, I can get it again. once I get done paying for it, she told me that my stuff will be out shortly and ask me if I wanted any water while I waited for my smoothies since it was going to take time, and I said yes please, and she went to go sit at the bar so I could watch them make things. it was a bit messy, but she got the job done while I was waiting, she checked up on me here and there if I need any more water and I said no thank you dear, later on I finally got my drink and to be honest with you it was the BEST SMOOTHIE EVER! I was like girl! you're a dream worker! she said, " I do my best, is it too sweet or not sweet enough for you?" I replied to girl! I love it. once I got my food I was a bit scared of trying it but I was brave enough to do it and gave in, And at that point I was amazed by it and when it got slow asked if she ever tried apples with it and she replied " no, I'll try it next time and if you come back I'll tell you about it" The manger needs to give her a rise to be honest I don't know if she got one, but she needs one with all the stuff she does to make sure someone is happy about their food or smoothie! I can't wait to come back and get her again hopeful she's there!

Wanted to share how impressed I was by staff, specifically Ashley! Drive thru was pretty busy and there were a few folks inside ahead of us. Any repeat customer would know that Smoothies can take a few extra minutes, as they are made to order; factor in one customer ordering multiple smoothies/food, and it’s common to have to wait. That being said, Ashley greeted us warmly, said she’d be right with us. In previous visits, I’ve experienced employees not even stop to look up and acknowledge a new customer waiting at the counter, let alone apologize for any sort of wait. Ashley hustled to fill the orders ahead of us, returned to place ours and executed in a very timely manner. I requested a number of modifications to my smoothie and upon handing it to me, she said if it wasn’t the way I wanted, she’d be happy to remake it. But she totally nailed it. She seemed puzzled when I asked her name, but it’s because I wanted to give praise where it’s due and she definitely deserves some recognition for covering all the bases in a polite and enthusiastic manner. She clearly takes pride in her work while communicating effectively with guests in an otherwise busy location.

I ordered a acai bowl and the toppings was good but the acai wasn’t creamy, it looks like it’s frozen and kinda thawed frozen and thawed, which caused it to have a lot of ice crystals and lose some of its flavor

Jerk Wrap smelled horrible! It was made with spoiled ingredients! Had to throw it away!

My daughter and I went to this tropical smoothie 10 mins before they closed. Jasmine took our order and I have to say she was the sweetest employee! Most people become rude when it’s time for them to get off work. But not Jasmine she was so polite and professional. We need more people with those kind of customer service skills. Jasmine really made our last minute tropical smoothie run better than we expected, because to be honest we were mentally preparing ourselves for a rude person but Jasmine was the complete opposite. Thank you Jasmine for your AMAZING customer service skills!!!🤩

Absolutely the best service and Mark is amazing! He always goes above and beyond to make sure that you get what you’re wanting. Mark also take the time to make you feel more then just a customer and takes the time to ask about your day etc. Smoothies and Flatbreads are always fresh and tasty. Highly recommend visiting the Nexton Square Location!

I HIGHLY recommend visiting Tropical Smoothie in Summerville, SC in the Nexton Square! Mark and his employees go above and beyond for their customers to make sure each one is happy and taking time to explain any questions you may have. I visit this location daily or every other day (not sure if it’s good or bad but I’m known on first name basis) 😂 for about 4-6 smoothies which are always tasty and fresh and sometimes I’ll throw in a bacon ranch flatbread which is my favorite and it’s always hot and fresh! Mark has a customer for life so keep up the good work and everyone go try it out I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Here to update my post 2 years later! : We have been continuing to give this tropical smoothie a try the past two years and it has gotten SO much better once the new manager came in! Just ordered the same order as before and it took about 3 minutes flat in the drive thru line and we were greeted with a knowledge smile. Kudos for turning this location around!!

Just waited in the drive thru for over 35 minutes for two flatbreads and a smoothie.. there was only 2 cars in front of us. Their service is constantly the slowest I’ve ever experience. Loved the location in Florida but never going back to this one as this is the 4th time we’ve experienced the slowest service ever.

A little pricey for what you get but sent by twice this week and tried several menu items. All the food was excellent. Service was pretty quick. First time ordered inside and second time on the app. Place was clean. Th drive thru was busy but they got them out relatively quickly. All and all a good a good experience l.
