A friend took me here for my first time and I was very impressed. Very good food and exceptionally friendly people.

Absolutely wonderful. First, the facility is new, stylish, and even had a great music selection playing. Comfortable seating and nice clear bathrooms. The food is excellent as well. Some of the best in Sumter. We ate there on back-to-back days. Which in our family is a very big deal. Try it yourself. I loved the pork slider; totally ridiculous!

This is a beautiful dining room. There is something inviting about this restaurant's atmosphere. Service was good and the food was delicious. I had the half chicken meal. The chicken was well seasoned, the crispy skin was a treat and the meat tenderness satisfying. This dish was GF. I will definitely keep this place in my go-to list.

Great service and some really good food. Their take on side dishes was totally unexpected. The sweet potatoes were wonderful and the spinach was the best I have ever tasted. You can't miss with the roasted chicken or with the shrimp and grits. This place is becoming my favorite restaurant in Sumter.

Server was super nice & kept our drinks full. Food came out quickly. Onion rings were great - definitely fresh (not frozen). BLT was okay - bread was a little hard & bacon not quite done (crispy) enough, but flavor of sandwich was good. Will definitely give this place another try.

We first enjoyed a dinner at Carolina Grove when the restaurant had just opened its doors. It was a nice experience, but the quality of the food and service declined with every visit. This past weekend we invited friends and I was not impressed by a single meal I saw. My salad must have been in the fridge for quite some time. The main ingredients were dried out and cold. A couple of what may have been freshly prepared toppings were unable to hide that fact. The chicken that was placed on top of another salad had spent too much time in the fryer, it was way too dark and hard. Moving on to another plate- The chicken looked like it was prepared while ago and placed in a holding area where its skin shriveled. It did not look appetizing. The meals do not provide a good value. The amount and quality of food for these prices is outrageous. The menu is lacking. The lowcountry crab cake featured on a picture of the restaurant’s website as part of dinner menu was not on the menu. The staff was friendly, but not as professional as you would expect after looking at the prices displayed on the menu. There was no manager in sight. We will not be returning. There are numerous restaurants in the greater Sumter area that provide a better menu, quality of food and service.

I tried this place out with my wife on my mother's birthday and the food was great and it was a nice atmosphere and not a crowded noisy restaurant like most are in Sumter. It's a nice restaurant for Sumter and the menu has something for everyone.

I had heard about Carolina Grove and Friday was my first visit. OMG! The food is excellent. The Salmon was delish. The complimentary bread was heavenly-I need another bath of the bread right now. The customer service is impeccable. I will return.

Great ambience. Courteous staff. Unique dressings. Amazing pimento cheese /pita appetizer. Our party had BBQ sandwich and fries, chicken tenders, salads, and half sandwiches... All delicious.

This is a beautiful restaurant! They bring biscuits to start and they were delicious. We got the fried green tomatoes to start, they were thick and fried perfectly. The pimiento cheese and the herb aioli were delicious. Would Definitely get that again. I got the ribeye with mushrooms and spinach and a grove salad with the apple cider vinaigrette. The steak was so tender I cut it with my butter knife!! The mushrooms were delicious but the spinach was lacking much flavor. The salad was fresh and crisp. He got the shrimp shirt grits and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was cheese and moist! Wonderful! Thank goodness he got the Mac and cheese too. The shrimp and grits was smaller than my salad for $20! It had 3 small shrimp and 2 pieces of thin sausage. The sauce was a tomato cream sauce and it was ok. We thought it was an appetizer portion but when we asked our waitress she said it was the large plate. It was anything but. We spoke with the manager and expressed our concerns because of the small portion. She said that is not normal and took it from our bill. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was so warm! We will definitely be coming back but not certain the shrimp and grits.

Food was good! Had the Shrimp and Grits dish! Would definitely get again! And starting with the Fried Green Tomatoes made it a very enjoyable meal! Only complaint would be alcoholic beverage selection. Just beer and wine. So I ended up getting their freshly brewed sweet tea!! Good sweet tea if that's your thing! Service was great as well!

Our server was incredibly attentive and the food was great. We did have a slight issue with one of our dinners, but they did everything reasonable to make things right. I commend them for their efforts and quality of food. I had the ribeye steak and my date had the crab cake. The steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned nicely. A sauce is served with the steak, but is not needed. I generally believe a steak should not require a sauce, but I tasted the sauce after eating half of my steak. I will say the sauce adds a another dimension to the steak that really elevates the flavor.

First visit for me. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and landscaping is great. Food was delicious and I will go again.
