We are moving to Surfside Beach and was on a quest to find good pizza! Look no more, it is at Casa Calimari. We had spaghetti and meatballs and pizza. Both were superb and the garlic bread they brought to the table was the best I've ever had and I am full blooded Italian. The service was outstanding. Will go back very soon!

Casa Calamari is our local Italian restaurant of choice. They always cook pasta al dente which is better for you and I love the texture. My favorite dish is the chicken piccata, so lemony and delicious. They did recently change the sauce a bit which for some reason made it almost impossible to swirl the pasta onto my fork! I had to lean over the plate and slurp it up, not very attractive. My husband like the linguini with clam sauce. He always says it is the best he's ever had. They did make a change to the salads where they include no greens, only iceberg lettuce, which is a disappoinment to me as I cannot digest that lettuce, I don't even think it is a lettuce. I wish they would go with a healthier green leaf lettuce especially when the chicken piccata is already $25. The bread and garlic oil is beyond delicious and makes up for not being able to eat the salad any longer.

Menu is interesting, with Italian “usuals,” such as lasagna and veal parm, but also some unique dishes, like walnut crusted salmon with zucchini noodles in a creamy dill sauce, all excellent, by the way. Drink specials included $5 margaritas and some wines. Service was friendly and attentive while not hovering. We enjoyed the coziness of a high booth. We have been here before and will be back. It is now one of our Favorites,
