Staff were attentive, friendly and organized. Salad and bread were excellent. Malibu has an evening special with a nice wine list. Top off with tiramisu a cheesecake. Chef/Owen Giovanni takes time for a meet and greet. Great place for a peaceful night out. Bless Hamburger,

Don’t bother going. Had a 7:30 reservation which meant nothing. After 25 minutes wait, we inquired as to how much longer, and we were told 5 minutes, which was a lie. At 8:10, we still hadn’t been seated (and there’s no good place to wait-either a narrow, crowded hallway or outside where the staff didn’t pay attention to you), a group of 3 walked past and immediately got a table. Another 4 people followed, and I asked them what time their reservation was, they said 8 o’clock!! Another couple who also had a 7:30 reservation were still waiting as well. I saw an open table, and I was offered it, but I told the other couple to take it since they had been waiting about 5 minutes longer (a total of almost 60 minutes). Bottom line is the people running were unconcerned about anyone waiting, didn’t have any system to ensure that the proper order was maintained for seating, and a reservation was worthless. The only way of ensuring you got close to getting a table was to be buddy with the owner like the group that got in at 8 o’clock at the expense of the people who had been waiting forever. The management is a total joke!!

This place is hidden gem. The staff were attentive and friendly. The ceaser salad and bread were excellent. The veal special tonight was tender, and the wine and lemon sauce was outstanding. We had the tiramisu and the raspberry cheesecake were exquisite.
If you ever find your way to Surfside or Myrtle Beach you must eat here.

A meal to die for. The owners are fun and amazing hosts, we had the most delicious food ever. The flavors were so deep and the portion sizes were great. The food had me breathless, literally as well. We will definitely be back. Strongly recommend.

We are from Greensboro, NC and to the best of my knowledge we have nothing like this back home. It’s a family operation and the care they put into the ingredients is evident in everything served. Our server, Wyatt, was extremely knowledgeable and did a fantastic job. I had the Veal Amalfitiana and my darling fiancée had Mama’s Lasagna. Both were exceptional. Those entrees were preceded by Fried Cappellini Cakes with house-made marinara sauce. This sauce may just define Malibu—perfect consistency, rich flavor, beautiful color. Regrettably we had no room for dessert but I have no doubt it would have been fantastic. We have a couple more nights in town and will be seriously considering a return visit.

Made reservations for our 25th anniversary several weeks before . Waited almost an hr past our reservation time. No where to wait excepted in a crowded stairwell. My husband enjoyed his dish of veal, however I was quite disappointed in the mussel pasta dish...very bland. Did have their eggplant dish as an appetizer that the owner brought to us since we were waiting so long . To be honest the food was not worth the wait or price . Also they serve the salad dressing in plastic take out cups.. kind of tacky for their prices. Was really hoping it was going to be a memorable dining experience...but it fell flat . Especially since it was for a milestone anniversary 😐

Another great meal at Malibu. We have an annual trip to Surfside would be complete without a visit to this great restaurant. We had a group of ten and everyone was extremely happy with their meal. Steak (2 versions), lasagna, Sunday sauce, veal, etc. Everything was fantastic and all the women were mesmerized by Giovanni.

We totally enjoy dining here. The service model is fine but feels mechanical and rather flat.

We had a fantastic experience at Malibu. Everyone was so friendly and you really do feel the family vibe. We opened with great martinis and a delicious focaccia bread service. It was a tough choice between the baked ziti or the lasagna for me. But Wyatt was super helpful and very accommodating when I asked for some Italian sausage to go with the ziti, so that sold it for me. My wife had the eggplant parm. We both absolutely loved our meals and couldn't get over the delicious sauce. The portions were huge! Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert, but that just means we have to come back, I guess! Definitely recommend
