Malibu Of Surfside Italian Restaurant

Wyatt was our server and very knowledgeable about gluten free. I was shocked to hear most of the menu was able to be made gluten free. I had gluten free bread basket, gluten free calamari, gluten free pasta with Alfredo, and seafood meal. They even had gluten free cheesecake! It was such a great for for out anniversary dinner. Jo even came out to the table to let us know his mom is celiac and they realize the importance. The entire staff was wonderful!

Malibu of Surfside was one of the most enjoyable dining experiences we’ve ever had! E-V-E-R! The service was impeccable - from the food runners to the servers to the bartender and (last but certainly NOT least) the owner. Everyone was knowledgeable about the menu and specials and every single person was friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate every request we had. We were treated to friendly and funny conversations all the while being taken care of like never before. Not only was it the best Italian food we’ve ever had (you MUST try the chicken cutlets on anything!) - but the staff made the whole evening over the top amazing from start to finish. We absolutely cannot wait to come back! I would recommend Malibu to anyone looking for the very best meal and dining experience you can have in the area. Also - thank you for making us gluten-free (celiac) folks feel not only safe but more than taken care of!

Ate there for the first time last night! The drinks , entree and dessert were amazing! I will be back. Best Italian on the grand strand.

Our last night of vacation was also my birthday. The restaurant we were planning on going to is closed for renovations so we needed to find something else in a pinch. We decided to try Malibu. I wish we found this place the first night of vacation. A Friday evening with no reservations, we barely had to wait for a table. The owner came over and chatted for a while and made us feel the only people there. And then there is the food! I haven't had Italian food like this since I lived on Long Island 20 years ago. You could cut the veal with a fork! And the cheesecake was the perfect way to end the night.

I have been searching for 14 years for good Italian food from Virginia to South Carolina, I have now found excellent Italian food at Malibu of surfside. My wait is finally over.

I found this absolutely magnificent restaurant walking back from the beach. A small, but charming and romantic fine dining establishment for sure. The food is genuine Italian, seldom found in the south, with a great selection of meat, seafood, pasta with many options including vegan. The wine list is long and diverse. They have gluten free pasta available, and their garlic bread served while waiting is remarkable. The staff well trained, hospitable and professional. Amazing meal and experience. They also have an upstairs for catered events or large parties. I can't say enough wonderful things about it. I will certainly be back and bring others..

Without doubt the best authentic Italian food since leaving NY years ago & eating my Sicilian family's italian food. We had the Sunday Sauce, rich Italian tomato sauce slowcooked full of sausage, meatball, and short rib, cooked tender and to perfection, over al dente penne pasta. Also the baked Eggplant Parm, sliced thin and cooked tender, no skin, topped with their delicious tomato sauce and gooey mozzarella. Highly recommend, our server and the staff were cordial and knowledgable. Don't miss this memorable place!

Vegetarian options: There is a broccoli pasta dish that says it's made with pancetta. I asked for it to be made without and they happily obliged, which I appreciated! The lentil soup they have is vegetarian as well and was quite good. Eggplant parm was very good and always a nice vegetarian option!

Outstandingly,delicious food here portions were beyond huge.tonite they had a wedding upstairs it took 45 minutes to get our salads even though we both highly recommend going here a must have when in surfside beach!
