I really enjoyed my lunch at Carmela's. The meatball on the one slice was really flavorful, I'm going to come back first a sub soon. The crust was crispy, yet airy, the sauce tangy, and the cheese gooey. The sausage on the other slice was tasty as well.

Great New York style pizza and even got to try the new cheese steak hogie. The Margarita Pizza is a favorite of ours.

Even after new management the place is still utterly fantastic! Can’t get any better than that crust! Bravo everyone, we have always loved this place, and will continue to return!

It is THE pizza spot if you’re in the area for sure! Definitely worth a half hour drive if you’re hunkering for a slice! I’ll be back to try an entree for sure.

This is the pizzeria of local pizzerias. As an Italian Philly boy, I love my pizza and I LOVE Carmela's.

Carmela & Cosimo sold their business & new owners took over around the end of October ‘24. The food no longer has that New York magic. And with that, it’s addio per sempre.

The food is awful, the owners are rude, and the place is dirty in a way that can only be described as foul. When I say I want NY style, I’m not talking about the rats

Seriously, if you’re from NYC and crave good pizza and good conversation from Carmela and her husband Cosimo, then you HAVE to come to Carmela’s for their pizza, garlic knots and calamari. I’m sure everything else on the menu is very good, but that’s what we had on our first visit. I’m originally from the Bronx, my wife is from Brooklyn. We lived in Brooklyn for 10 years before we moved to Staten Island for 25 years, we know good pizza from all the 5 boroughs of NYC. This tasted as good as home, you won’t be disappointed. I have read some of the reviews here where folks are complaining about the pizza, really now? What’s your idea of good pizza? Marcos? Dominos? Pizza Inn? I’ve eaten at other pizza places down here and there are only two others along with Carmela’s I’d give a nod to that come close to NY style. As for Cosimo and Carmela, they greeted me and my wife as we were long time friends from the neighborhood. So if you hear a curse slip or someone yell, that makes them bad people? Come on, get a life.
