I was extremely DISAPPOINTED..My cheeseburger was a taste of sawdust. I had an order of onion rings...my God..nothing but batter.
My bill of fare was $18. I know Carolina Express has been in business for years; I've eaten there before..this was a mere disappointment.
A person sitting in front of me threw his meal away. I'll not recommend but, there's regular patrons. I certainly won't recommend this place and I won't be returning..not a good eating place as once before.

Gather 'round, folks, because I’ve got a tale of epic proportions from my recent culinary adventure at Carolina Express on Wade Hampton in Greenville, SC. Buckle up, because this is gonna be one heck of a ride!

Now, imagine walking into a place that’s like the ultimate home away from home. That’s Carolina Express! Picture this: it’s like stepping into your grandma’s kitchen if she had an unlimited supply of sweet tea and a secret recipe that could probably end world hunger. The ambiance is as comfy as a well-worn recliner, and the friendly staff greet you like you’re long-lost family, but without the awkward family reunion vibes.

First off, let’s talk about the food. I ordered their famous Carolina BBQ, and let me tell you, it’s so good it should come with a warning label: “Caution: May Cause Instant Happiness.” The pulled pork was so tender it practically melted in my mouth like butter on a hot biscuit. And don’t get me started on the sides—those collard greens were so flavorful, I half expected them to start singing gospel music. The mac ‘n’ cheese? Let’s just say I needed a moment to compose myself after the first bite. It was like a cheesy hug for my taste buds.

The service? Oh, boy, it was faster than a cheetah on roller skates. Our server was so attentive, I’m pretty sure they have superpowers. They made sure we had everything we needed before we even knew we needed it. Talk about service with a smile!

And the ambiance—oh, the ambiance! It’s like dining inside a cozy barn where the decor screams “Welcome Home!” and the aroma makes you want to settle in for the night.

In conclusion, if you’re in Greenville and you haven’t been to Carolina Express, what are you even doing with your life? It’s a feast for the senses and a heartwarming experience that’ll have you leaving with a full belly and a smile. Carolina Express is the kind of place that makes you wish every meal could be this good. So, get on over there, and don’t forget to thank me later!

Worst food I've ever tasted! I don't think they have ever changed the grease since opening day.

Food was GREAT! That chili bacon cheeseburger was the best I've had in a longtime. However, the prices are a little steep and I didn't like how the pricing wasn't listed anywhere. We bought 2 burgers no side or drink and it was $22.

Food was good but not almost 15$ for a burger and onion rings with no drink good. I mean jeez man I love to support local but the other clock style restaurants are much cheaper, also the prices aren’t even listed on the drive thru menu.

I haven't been to Carolina Express in about 15 /20 yrs, back when me & my ex ate from there so much FOR YRS that we quit going for awhile. I have to say I don't know how & why it's taken me this long to get back in there, but I am SO GLAD I went because EVERYTHING about my visit was absolutely great & everything was cooked just right & was fresh, cooked to order!! Which is SOOO rare anymore, as I think we all know. But I ordered a cheeseburger plate with 1/2 & 1/2 fries & onion rings & it was DELICIOUS!! And if you can believe this, the cook Tony has been there for "44" yrs! And barely even looks that old I told him, lol! And he remembered me as soon as I walked in. It was great! And the nice lady up front, I think Lori or something, was very busy as she was running the front counter & drive thru by herself, but she still had a great attitude & personality, her & Tony! And check this 1 out! The place was spotless!! How rare is THAT 1 now a days also? And let me tell u that is HUGE for me! No one, or at least myself, likes to eat in a nasty dirty place!! On top of all of that as I was finishing up eating a man came in & I recognized him right away as being the owner of Carolina Express and I remembered him from back in the day and he's also is & was a very nice man. I didn't even remember to get a photo but wish I had, but I definitely will next time. Thanks guys for everything!

We used to love this place. But recently we noticed their price went up drastically and they changed the recipe for some foods. We loved the onion rings but the new recipe is sad. Pretty disappointed at the changes. Won’t be coming back for a while, if at all.

Definitely not friendly. Extremely rude man at the drive thru window. We were sitting at the menu, and he shouted at us from the take out window that he WAS BUSY. And that he didn't even want our service because he WAS BUSY. Anyway I highly recommend the clock in Greer ?

Like literally the worst burger ever: it had zero seasoning. Had to stop at the dollar store and buy salt and garlic salt.
