Facilities are dated, party of 12 in private dining room took 2 hours to get main entrees, waitresses did not cooperate with each other and stated as such. Steaks and potatoes were Luke warm at best. Scallops were done but full of grit. Waitress said owners are retiring- overdue in our opinion !!"

From the moment we were greeted by the owners (with a wonderful sense of humor) to our final farewell as we were going out the door, everything was just simply amazing. We loved our waitress, Katie, she is so friendly and bubbly, again great sense of humor. Now to get down to what you really want to know...yes the food is phenomenal, absolutely drool worthy. We both chose the Kansas City steaks and had no regrets. Let me tell you something..you NEED their sweet potato in your life, prepared perfectly and you get to add your toppings to your own personal taste. Kudos Open Hearth for a wonderful night of perfection. You are absolutely positively worth all 5 ? and the hour drive. We can't wait to come back!P.S. Dress code is casual but come as fancy as you want to. ?

We have been patrons here for as long as I can remember and my parents as far back as the beginning. Had the lobster bisque last night and it was perfect! I ordered the crab cakes with rice pilaf and it came with a side of broccoli. It was fantastic as was the salad and bread. I like that they serve a basket of additions like cheese, butter, bacon bits, and sour cream for your potato. The coffee is fantastic. The food and service is always top notch and consistent! We walked in told them our reservation was at six and was seated and they took our drink order immediately! Very satisfied!

Long-standing, traditional, Greenville steakhouse. Pleasant ambiance with booth seating (red) and tables. Nice bar, helpful and attentive servers, locally owned with onsite oversight. Predictably good steaks and seafood. An overall comfortably enjoyable dining experience.

My wife had filet and crab cake, she was very happy. I had the ribeye, it was great. The salads were fresh and very good.

The scallops were delicious! The staff was very attentive. My wife's steak was just right and so was my 14 oz. Porkchop.

Excellent food and service. Not our every day restaurant but sometimes it is nice to get a great steak and splurge.

I have been to the Open Hearth several times and always enjoyed my meal. Not the case tonight. There were several issues. To begin with, the Italian dressing was flavorless and we had to request another type. When my meal came out, the steak and the baked potato were undercooked. I sent the steak back to be cooked a bit more, didn't bother about the potato. My companion had steak also. It was so bland. We waved the owner over and told him how underwhelmed we were with the meal. He got huffy, said they don't season the steak(maybe they should) and had been in business 62 years. . He took our dishes and left without telling us what he was doing. We sat there several minutes and then the server came and apologized and took the meals off our bill (still charged for the tea). Our server did a great job . Although the meal was sub par, that wasn't the main issue. The attitude of the owner was the reason we will not be returning.

Food not seasoned, onion rings, seafood and lam chops over cooked. Steak no taste. And the waiting for drinks and food was outrageous! The only good thing about the restaurant was our waitress. Will not go to this restaurant again. Oh and too expensive and the portions where too small for the price!

Great atmosphere, excellent service. Peppercorn dressing was amazing. Old school, traditional restaurant. No

Honestly I love the atmosphere and the bartender but the food is bland and they dont season the steaks at all before cooking, fried shrimp plate not really impressive looking.Everything was hot when it arrived, unfortunately they dont offer sweet tea.I know they have been in buisness like 50 years but if they would preseason the steaks with garlic powder, salt and pepper it would make it a really good dining experience.

Good food. Very slow service. Not sure if it is a staffing issue. Have eaten there several times before and the service was good.

Nice atmosphere, great family owned restaurant that made a small office dinner very enjoyable. Appetizers of calamari and bacon wrapped scallops that I tried were both very good. For main course I ordered a bone in rib eye that I will go back again for a special occasion and was prepared well. I would recommend if you wanted a bit of an upscale menu with also the usual entrees for just about any craving for a bit of a splurge night out with friends or for a nice date. I enjoyed my experience and my dinner.
