This was a wide shoulders experience for the aged. Oh boy oh boy did this seemingly dingy gem live up to that name.

Chicken and waffles? Succulent between the moisture retained by the chicken, and the saccharine syrup. Butter as you can see already slavered on for your enjoyment. The waffle bread itself did its job, played the role of vessel well and complimented everything.

Hash brown surprise?
Surprise was that it was the best item yet, and possibly within a Mike Sanchez wide radius. Which is pretty damn wide, hence why I’m so fond of this food.

Perfect blend of cheese, onion aroma, pillowy yet simultaneously crisp potatoes, and love.

Kind hearted people adorning genuine smiles tie all of this otherwise “good food” into a great experience.

You know how they say personality changes your appearance? That’s how I feel about this food. You don’t have lovely people working counters and a genuinely homey diner backdrop? You don’t have memorable food. But because of every factor singing to me in unison, I will be back. Yes, I will like it. No, my scale will not. Big back time, big back dine.

Fine dine, Drover is hungry and I’m hungover. Too much syrup. Peace

Quality food and homey atmosphere in a locally owned establishment. Lovely small town diner vibes. Great portion sizes for the price, with fast and friendly service.

We go there when we're in that area. Food and service are always good. Sometimes, we have to just ride by because the place is packed and nowhere to park.

The food was decent and well priced. Bring cash to tip the staff as the digital tips aren’t shared.

I was visiting family in the area and my daughter thought I would like this place. She was right as I ate here three days in a row! The decor is very country and they sell wall pictures hanging on each wall .
You order at the counter and the same young lady taking orders on each visit was very efficient and friendly.
The steak breakfast was excellent and well seasoned. The biscuit and gravy was good and the hamburger steak has good flavor. They do use a gravy mix . The green beans are seasoned perfectly. The apple fritters are pleasing.
If I lived in the area I would eat here often and definitely will return on future visits.

The BEST chicken and waffles I have ever had!!! The chicken is juicy and fried to perfection! Great country atmosphere and amazing tomato pies. Absolutely love this place and plan to keep going back again and again!!

Best food I have ate in a long time coming from a restaurant. I’ll certainly be coming back for more.

Classic country diner with hidden gems throughout the menu.

I have been here twice in the past several months. I wanted to have both lunch and breakfast before reviewing. Overall, I would say breakfast is better and a little more worth the trip.

I write this review with a heavy heart because this is one of my favorite kind of restaurants. Family style tables, southern diner food, sweet tea on the side you get yourself, the works and everyone is so nice! While there are some delicious food items on the menu that I will get to in a second, the majority of the food lacked taste or was off in one way or another. Truthfully, while I enjoy the restaurant atmosphere, I would have given the food two stars if I averaged out everything I had.

Let’s start with the hidden gems though.. the cinnamon role - to die for. When they grabbed it out of a basket and it was already shrink wrapped I was really worried. Wow was I wrong, they hold up well. I would go back just to grab one to go while I am passing! Secondly, the sweet potato casserole was on par with Ruth’s Chris. So sweet and delicious. Please get this if you like sweet potatoes.

As far as the remaining items go, my pulled pork sandwich was really dry. Maybe it was the no sauce when served but overall, no amount of sauce I added could really help. I paired it with the Mac and cheese and the pasta was way overcooked and lacked any salt or taste. During breakfast the side eggs were dry/overcooked and my omelet was similar. I remember there being a ton of onions as well. Maybe it’s just the style of omelet but I like a fluffy exterior with everything mixed in and melted in the middle. It seemed like they overcooked some eggs on the griddle and then at the last second added some warmed up meats and vegetables. I wanted to like the pancakes so bad but they tasted like a sugar cookie. Adding any syrup was not an option. Again, maybe just the style I am not used to.

While there are negatives, there is so much potential to this place. I will be back to find other hidden gems and I would recommend other people to visit as well and make your own opinion because this has been voted a top spot in TR on a few forums.

I was riding my motorcycle and I pulled over to adjust my eyeglasses. I noticed that I was in a small restaurant parking lot, so I decided to go ahead and get a bite to eat. I had the pulled pork plate. It was delicious! The staff were friendly and helpful. I can't wait to go try some other menu items.

Great food at a decent price. With a group of 4 and everyone was very impressed. Don't let the exterior fool you. This is not "country cooking". Highly recommend.

Their breakfast is amazing! They have the largest, fluffiest pancakes. My husband loved his chicken fried steak breakfast. The staff is very friendly and made some great recommendations. We are adding this to our list of go-to restaurants.
