Pink Mama's Ice Cream Shop Travelers Rest

I want to commend the Pink Mama's Ice Cream bus driver. I personally witnessed him stop his vehicle at a crosswalk at 385 and West Georgia Rd. He helped an elderly lady cross the street in heavy traffic, ignoring his own safety to do the right thing. The best part was when the elderly lady got to the other side of the road he handed her an ice cream sandwich, free of charge. Anyway, these guys exemplify what being a civil servant is all about!!! Please contact them when you have an event.

This shop’s truck almost killed me and my son today. I was waiting at Pelham to turn left onto Villa Rd. when the light turned yellow. The oncoming traffic was slowing, so I was about to make the turn when this truck came screaming through the light. It literally sped up when the light turned yellow, even though it should have been able to see I had already started the turn so that I had to slam on brakes. The light turned red before it even got into the intersection, so they clearly ran it. I was obviously already in the intersection and beginning my turn when the driver decided to floor it and run the red light. If I had a slower reaction time and had tried to complete my turn, that truck would have hit the passenger side of my car where my 10 year old was sitting. I would not trust these people to drive safely, around children especially, and this driver proves they are willing to break the law and endanger lives to save a few seconds of their time. DO NOT HIRE.

Although I do have 2 complaints, I am giving Pink Mama's ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ because my complaints are more a matter of my own preference. I've been in the food industry for a long time and there are 2 things I've known to be true; if a restaurant can't make a good burger the rest of their food will probably suck, too. The other is with ice cream parlors.. if they can't make a good shake the rest probably sucks, too. Pink Mama's absolutely NAILED the shake! Perfect consistency and flavor. They also gave me a cup of whipped cream because I didn't want to give my pup anything super heavy. The atmosphere is welcoming and the location is easy to find! I do third party deliveries and come through TR often so I will be back when I get the hankerin'!

Now for the 2 complaints. Again, purely preference..

1) The chocolate chips in the mint chip were a bit big and hurt my teeth. The shake was still delicious and I will probably order it again.

2) I, personally, wouldn't respond to the haters in the reviews. Its best to learn you just cant please some people and move on. Yes, I get you are defending yiur business but the passive aggressive responses are offputting. Your time is better spent building a positive reputation with the community by thanking the positive reviews and tending to the actual complaints.

Inside was so cute. Ice-cream was great. 1st time here and I will be back. Waffle cone are made fresh every morning. 10 out of 10. Highly recommend

No indoor seating but they do have a restroom. Great little ice cream place on the swamp rabbit trail, about a 10 mile ride from the Reedy Rides bike rental.

i come in every so often to get ice cream for my family and it’s typically a larger order (which i know can be annoying at times, especially when it’s busy) but i’m always still treated nicely.
