Food was very tasty. Service was very disappointing. Unreasonably long waits for menus, to order, for food and check. I would guess they were seriously understaffed. Also, the shrimp and grits were very good, but should have come from a "small plates" menu category. I especially don't understand why so skimpy with the grits, since they are not expensive.
Always a new food experience and always wonderful. Consistently brilliant though. Everything is painstakingly designed for pleasure and experience.
We had a wonderful dinner both nights of our stay at the Domestique. Great food and super friendly staff. Amazing cocktails
Visited for restaurant week. Had the end of season salad, salmon piccata and the chocolate torte and cheesecake. Everything was delicious!
Terrible service and got food wrong waited on cocktail for much longer than should have. Got forgotten a few times had to hunt down a waitress.
Great location and beautiful venue. The food is good, but unfortunately the service continues to be a real disappointment. This was my second time dining here, and once again the service was extremely slow. The waitresses seemed disengaged and not proactive at all. I asked for bread three times—it was never brought to the table, yet still appeared on the bill. Details like this make it hard to enjoy the experience. A real shame, as the setting and cuisine deserve much better service.
Honestly, one of not the best eating out experiences we've had since moving back to Greenville. We did the restaurant week menu and tried one of each. Each was incredible! And the outdoor ambience was perfect. Thanks for a great dinner.
I visit Restaurant 17 every time I am in town - and am never disappointed. The room is inviting and the noise level is just right. Our server was attentive, informative and timely. Our appetizers and entrees were exquisite - with succulent flavors and inviting plate presentations. Barbara - the manager - greets us warmly each time we visit - and ensures that no detail is forgotten. She is a delight to interact with. We will be back soon.
We had lovely evening , ate outside on the patio, Barbra and the staff were the best. Food and drinks were excellent. Highly recommend 17 for a unique dining experience.
Let me first say that we love Restaurant 17 and always bring visiting friends there for dinner. Unfortunately last night our party of four had a few issues. First, we were brought to a table in a dark corner by the stairs. We asked instead for the table by the window. We were told it was reserved. Well, we had reservations too. Was that exact table reserved? Ultimately we were seated by the window. All good. Two of us ordered a glass of Nebbiolo wine. I thought it was a rich wine but it turned out to be much lighter and not very good. I looked up the definition of Nebbiolo wine when I got home in case I was mistaken and this is what I found. "Nebbiolo is an intense and deep wine, both on the nose and on the palate. Nebbiolo is perfect paired with charcuterie, aged cheeses, and meat dishes". While it is also sometimes likened to pinot noir, I was expecting something a little more complex, closer to a cab. No problem, we asked for two cabs. All good. The whipped ricotta starter was absolutely delicious, we all loved it. Following that, three of us got the peach and beet salad. What I received was a mountain of greens, with a few slices of peach and few if any beets as I looked through the lettuce. I did manage to find a couple of matchstick sized beets. I think there was supposed to be figs as well but maybe that was in the dressing. Suffice to say that was not what I was expecting. Since we already had an issue with the wine, I didn't want to point out another one. We saw at another table the watermelon and burrata salad and my husband ordered it and was thrilled with the presentation and flavor. (He was also disappointed in the peach beet salad because he doesn't like greens!!) Two of us had the ravioli "small" plate which was plentiful and delicious. One ordered the shrimp pasta fra diavolo. It was super spicy but was well received since she loves very spicy food. Despite the issues I noted, we will be back at Restaurant 17 in the future.

We've been coming here for a few years and loved it but the last two visits have left much to be desired. The service has declined substantially. It's very slow and the servers seemed to be stretched too thin to attend to customers. I hope they can improve because the location is beautiful and the food has been good
The staff was very knowledgeable and attentive. The setting with the view of the mountains was picturesque and tranquil. The decor was simplistic, but each table felt private and quiet. We really liked that. So many places are so loud and hectic. This was not. The offerings were authentic farm to table and very appealing. Accommodations were made on the side dishes for my husband, of which we were appreciative. The steak, a New York Strip, was not the best cut of beef in terms of tenderness, but the flavor and the gremolata was very nice. The tiramisu was outstanding and the affogato delicious.
We enjoyed our anniversary dinner at 17. The food was delicious. We can't say enough about our server, Jules. She is very kind and accommodating and made us feel right at home. Each and every person we encountered wished us a happy anniversary! That was a nice touch. We have already talked about our next visit!
With all hard surfaces in the restaurant it can get a little noisy but the service from Rick and the food were wonderful! Thank you!
Beautiful view of the mountains, multiple indoor/outdoor seating options, and very attentive staff - but most important are the farm to table quality ingredients that are presented so well. Great place and one of our favorites in this area.
