This is my favorite place for sushi
Their sushi is good! But don’t think I’ll be back after we were told a 20 min wait, then waited over an hour. When we asked how much longer, we were told we were next but watched multiple others go in front of us, including people walking through the door. We left.. waste of time

My friend from North Carolina met me to celebrate her birthday. We walked at Furman, then were looking for somewhere to eat. We called and they said as long as we got there before six we didn’t need a reservation. Everyone was so nice! The food was absolutely incredible! I had a Greenville roll and I almost got an order to bring home because it was so delicious. This is the most delicious sushi I’ve ever had! Then, they asked us about dessert and I mentioned that it was my friend‘s birthday. They brought out an absolutely incredible fried cheesecake with fudge sauce and whipped cream! If you are anywhere in the Greenville area, you can’t miss by going here. It’s right by the swamp rabbit trail, has incredible food, service, and atmosphere, and the service is excellent!

Pork Gyoza, Clemson Roll, Sashimi Bento, and Chicken & Steak Hibachi were nicely prepared, but did not especially stand out.
Service was very attentive.

This is the best sushi joint in the country, whether it is sushi, fresh wasabi, a tuna cutting (amazing!), they have everything.

We ordered to go that included 2 Miso soups. Both containers were almost empty. We thought it was a joke . This is the second time they have done this to us

Great food and great prices
I waited 30 minutes for a table, which was fine. And then waited another 45 minutes for my swordfish special, which turned out to be overcooked. Felt like they needed the table for a turnover more than focusing on customer service. Very disappointed.
Staff is friendly and food is fresh!

The staff is incredible. But the FOOD was outstanding!! Enough cannot be said about the care and pride th
Sooooo friendly! Maggie the mgr is a delight and made us feel so welcome that we ended up going both nights we were in town! Great ambiance with modern Japanese aesthetic and hip music. Highly recommend!
I absolutely love Sushi yama. I've been coming here since they've opened. This is the first place that introduced me to sushi. I've never had a bad sushi here. My husband and I came here for an omakasi for our anniversary. Chef Rick and all the staff were extremely nice and personable. The food was absolutely amazing and probably the best food that I've ever tasted. We are already planning our next omakasi with them!
All I wanted was a rainbow roll without rice. The hostess said, no problem and took my $17.00 40 minutes later, she said they can’t make it and I’d have to wait another 15 minutes. Terrible service from this place.
So we ate at Sushi Yama for Valentines Day last night and was highly disappointed! We have ate here several times before as it is usually one of our top sushi restaurants. But last night, management decided that “take out” orders were more important than the people actually waiting on their food in the restaurant. We waited over an hour for our sushi rolls and still didn’t receive all our food! We were almost late to another reservation we had planned that was 2 hours after our reservation time at Sushi Yama. We had to rush to our next reservation just to get there in time which should’ve never been a problem. Worst service I have ever experienced. Our waitress, Madison, was so great and one of the best waitresses we’ve ever had and we know that what happened was not her fault at all! It was managements fault! They should’ve stopped “to go orders” that night due to the amount of people in the restaurant. We are highly disappointed in Sushi Yama and probably won’t be going back for a while.
