I absolutely love Sushi yama. I've been coming here since they've opened. This is the first place that introduced me to sushi. I've never had a bad sushi here. My husband and I came here for an omakasi for our anniversary. Chef Rick and all the staff were extremely nice and personable. The food was absolutely amazing and probably the best food that I've ever tasted. We are already planning our next omakasi with them!
All I wanted was a rainbow roll without rice. The hostess said, no problem and took my $17.00 40 minutes later, she said they can’t make it and I’d have to wait another 15 minutes. Terrible service from this place.
So we ate at Sushi Yama for Valentines Day last night and was highly disappointed! We have ate here several times before as it is usually one of our top sushi restaurants. But last night, management decided that “take out” orders were more important than the people actually waiting on their food in the restaurant. We waited over an hour for our sushi rolls and still didn’t receive all our food! We were almost late to another reservation we had planned that was 2 hours after our reservation time at Sushi Yama. We had to rush to our next reservation just to get there in time which should’ve never been a problem. Worst service I have ever experienced. Our waitress, Madison, was so great and one of the best waitresses we’ve ever had and we know that what happened was not her fault at all! It was managements fault! They should’ve stopped “to go orders” that night due to the amount of people in the restaurant. We are highly disappointed in Sushi Yama and probably won’t be going back for a while.
Friendly. Very good food. Nice presentation. Clean. Popular.

We biked the swamp rabbit trail - half our group wanted sushi and the other half wanted pizza. Sushi Yama was nice to let the other half of our group have their pizza out on the patio dining area. Our water was super knowledgeable and helpful! Sushi was some of the best I've had. Highly recommend the Carolina roll and the swamp rabbit roll (if you are ok with cream cheese)... Love the area for kids next door with plastic axe throwing, etc.

Recommended from someone on the mountain and now I’m sharing with you. Spicy edamame (you’re welcome) bang bang shrimp and any sushi rolls you choose (get two of em) is made to perfection. And the salmon teriyaki was amazing as well.

The food was delicious, filling, and well priced, matched with friendly service and an owner concerned with customer satisfaction. My family will be coming to eat here again
Kid-friendliness: We had a fussy baby, but the friendly staff and nice atmosphere helped her settle in nicely, and all the staff were very accommodating and friendly to her

Great ambience, friendly servers that become like friends, and the food. The food is 10 stars. There are hidden menu items, custom sushi orders upon request, and great menu items like the hamachi kama and spicy miso ramen. I love switching the ramen noodles to udon noodles in the tonkotsu broth. Literally one of my favorite noodle dishes. My absolute favorite brussel sprouts in the world is Sushi Yama’s brussel sprouts.

They have the BEST sushi in Greenville! The food is always fresh and made with care, while the staff is pleasant.
YOU HAVE TO GET THE BRUSSEL SPROUTS! As far as sushi goes the Paris mountain roll has thinly sliced lemon on it that makes me drool just thinking about it! The islander roll is another awesome favorite, wrapped in cucumber is low carb, high protein and very refreshing

I am a sushi lover, and this is some of the best sushi I’ve ever had – the rolls are the perfect size and done perfectly and the ingredients are the freshest I’ve ever found in the Upstate. This family owned business, clearly takes pride and what they do, and their staff is so professional and kind!
