I visited Tipsy Taco (TT) recently and then the following night visited, with nearly an identical business model, Farmhouse Taco (FHT). This review will compare the 2 using Google Maps' 3 restaurant rating categories, with a designated winner at the end of each.
1) Food: did not care for TT's food at all. The meat was dry, as if it was sitting for too long under a heat lamp. The corn on the cob had an un-fresh quality to it, not sure how else to describe it. The chips were thin and greasy and had utterly no distinguishable seasoning. The tiny refried beans were very refried. The fries were soggy. The sautéed veggies in the fajita plate were soggy. In terms of freshness of ingredients, there really wasn't any different between TT and a SAD Mexican (SMD?) joint. By comparison, FHT seems to have fresher ingredients, crisper and well seasoned tortilla chips, and more succulent meat. Winner: FHT. 2) Service: at TT, we were greeted by multiple people. It seemed like everyone was happy to see us. This is in direct contrast to FHT which the staff really don't make you feel warm and welcome when visiting. It's almost as if you're a nuisance to them. We've been going to FHT for years though and service tends to wax and wane like the phases of the moon, depending on the current management. Winner: TT. 3) Atmosphere: toss up. They both have big screen TV's. They both have cornhole toss, though TT's is in the back and on astroturf whereas FHT is in front on concrete, so TT's is a bit more cozy. Winner: TT.
Perhaps TT and FHT could join forces, TT contributing mainly to the Service and Atmosphere and FHT responsible for the kitchen... could call it Tipsy Farmhouse? I'd go there.

I enjoyed this place when it was the other place and we thought we'd give the new eatery a try. I'm glad we did. It does the popular kind of fusion taco well. There's traditional stuff on the menu, but it also has more interestng stuff like corned beef, buffalo chicken and gyro tacos. Everything was good, but the Seoul Mate featuring korean barbeque was particularly good. They're decent size, so one or two should work for most people.

I ABSOFREAKIN LOVE this place. Kevin is a bartender here and he was very accommodating. The owner was here today and was ready for action. I didn't have an issue, but the concern that I had was immediately addressed!!! WOW, is the only way to express how pleased I was with this location. THANK YOU!!!!!!

We had a large party and asked to divvy up checks from the get go. The server would not stating she does it her way and it works fine. We asked again. She declined again. At the end, everyone had to go through one by one and tell her every thing and every drink that was ordered on their ticket. 25 minutes later, she comes back with incorrect tickets and a bunch of unaccounted for food that ended up being duplicate food entered incorrectly. It was a disaster. The manager was told and he stated well she’s newer. A new server should not be given a large party she cannot manage by herself.

Tipsy Taco in Travelers Rest gracefully accommodated our large group of 26 for a dinner recently. The food and drink were excellent, and the service was even better! Our lead server Becca was amazing, efficient and funny, and managers Chris and Jake were super helpful in seeing that our two large tables received everything we needed. I would not hesitate to return, and I highly recommend the TR Tipsy location.

Our first time here. A fee for chips and salsa etc. The wings pretty good. More than just celery included. Nice touch. The blue cheese dressing watery. Not sure if they mix water in to make it last longer. Also, wiped would be nice with wing order. Hands get messy. 😉 We had a pina colada and margarita flight. Pretty good. There is a 3% credit card charge if you prefer not to be charged that bring cash. You don’t know that til’ you get your bill. They have a nice outdoor area for families, kids, and pets.
Those GVL steak tacos and the chicharrons were very good.

You have for to try the Tamales at tipsy taco. Unfortunately, they only come with 2 tamales. The only issue is if you want more tamales, they don't sell them individually. You have to get another plate if you want another one.

I’ve been to the Travelers Rest Tipsy Taco four times now, and every visit has been excellent. The food is consistently delicious, the service is quick and friendly, and the whole place is clean and welcoming. It’s family-friendly too, with a great greenspace out back for kids to run around.
On my last visit, my burrito was made a little differently than I ordered, and the manager went above and beyond to make it right—even though it was such a minor issue. That kind of service really stood out to me.
This is a fantastic spot to bring friends, watch a game, or just enjoy a great meal. Highly recommend!
