While expecting a 5 star restaurant, it was nice but nowhere 5 star as we were told. It took a great while to get waited on as the owner does not have any waitresses. The ribeye was good and large but was undercooked. So, if you want a medium-rare, as for medium. The prices are sky-high for what you get. The meal I got was $50.00 and it was a 120 oz ribeye, baked potatoe and salad. I'd rather had eaten at Logans or else where. Not long after we go there, they were telling people that it would be 1.5 hour wait. Still, plenty of tables open. So, I was very disappointed as I took my boyfriend out for a fabulous birthday supper that wasn't so fabulous after all.

One of my favorite Walhalla-area restaurants. Go hungry and save room for dessert!

10/10 the food portions are huge and the flavor is bigger. My table had three different orders. Sirloin, ribeye, and filet mignon. They were all huge (60+ oz) and amazing. I cut my steak with a butter knife. Highly recommend the mashed potatoes and crab cakes. They were home made and great. Everything came out quickly, but we got here early. It's a small restaurant so get here early if you want a table!!
Parking: The parking lot is small, but it's a small restaurant. Get here early to guarantee a table.

Dakota is a small cozy establishment with a family friendly atmosphere. The hostess/waitress/bartender is the most cheerful hard worker I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with at any restaurant. My wife and I initially felt out of place, since we’d just come from hiking. She made us feel accepted and right at home. Our dishes were very good and arrived quickly. We ordered cake to go and asked for plastic utensils to take back to our hotel. She returned with silverware from the kitchen and told us to take it with us.Thank you for a great dinner and exceptional hospitality.

We recently moved to Mountain Rest. We stopped in to have dinner last night. What an amazing surprise!! The food here was fantastic! I had a Sirloin & Grilled Shrimp and my wife had the Mahi-Mahi. We both found or meals delicious! The shrimp was large and fresh and the sirloin was melt in your mouth tender!!! And the portions are HUGE! BTW - best lemon cake I can remember having in a LONG time! Highly recommend. But get there early .. they have a a very small window 5-8PM that they are open.
Restaurant was very good. Food is fresh and cook when ordered. Salad bar very nice too.A little pricey but very good.
Pricey but alot of food. Worth the money. Salad bar was great. Service was a little off the chart at first. But realized the owner takes care of dining room alone. Very personable.
Little bit of a wait but definitely worth it!! The food is exquisite! The server was knowledgeable, friendly and so personal! The ambiance is relaxing and quiet. Was not a thing I didn't love about this place!

We had to wait about 45 minutes, but it was definitely worth it. The waitress was such a sweet lady. The food is amazing, we loved everything. We both ordered ribeyes and they were so big I could only eat about 1/3 of mine. They have a flour less chocolate torte, soooo good. The atmosphere is very romantic. Great date night place. To sum up... Amazing service, food and atmosphere.
Food was good. My Rib-eye was mostly fat, but it's hard to not get a fatty Rib-eye. The wife really liked her sirloin. We didn't know how to take the hostess/server. She was very loud and in your face, but I think she was trying to be friendly.
We were very impressed with the food and service. The atmosphere was very homey and comforting. The waitress was so tentative and very honest with the size of plates. Food was phenomenal. I personally had the shrimp scampi with garlic mashed potatoes and the shrimp were so juicy and perfectly seasoned. Mashed potatoes were perfect. Worth every penny. Definitely will be coming back to try more on the menu and will be recommending this place to friends and colleagues. Thank you for the great experience!!!
This place is lovely! They treated us like family and the food tasted like a warm hug verrry good food!! I could tell only quality ingredients were used and the portions are immense you will need a to go box!
It’s been about 2 weeks since we’ve visited this gem, and my husband has not shut up about the steak. He says it’s the best he’s ever had!I had the southwest chicken and we both shared an appetizer of shrimp. My only gripe was their dessert. I had their pineapple or coconut cake and it was dry and the frosting was rubbery.Overall, we would definitely come back given the comfortable ambiance, excellent service, and delicious food!
