Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

We travel full time in our RV and many times stayed overnight in there parking lot. It is a convenient way for us to spend the night. Of course they hope and expect you to eat with them while you are there. Of course we do just that . Usually dinner the night we arrive and breakfast before we leave. Never once have we been disappointed. That brings me to why we choose to eat here on Thanksgiving Day. We weren't traveling through. However, we weren't home with family either. Not wanting to cook a big meal ourselves we opted for Cracker Barrel. Again we were pleased.

This visit at this location was subpar. Food was cold. Cafe mocha was ridiculously sweet. Server wasn’t pleasant.

Placed a order to go it was read back to me and was right when I went to pick it up order was totally wrong after waiting 20 min.for original order so I waited 50 min. More for them to fix my order while I'm standing there 2 other people was waiting for a long time for their food after 70 min. Total I finally got my food for 2 people what is wrong with this place. So no I'm sorry or it's free for your wait no nothing just paid my 24.00 and left I will never be back to this store.

Out of country fried steak, broccoli, and green beans. Ordered fried chicken and carrots. Came back and told no carrots. Later found carrots. The chicken was a slice of breast cut in half and breaded. So dry you couldn't eat it. Told that is why you need to put the gravy on it. Meatloaf was cold and so were the potatoes. Did take my meal off the bill, but we will not stop at this place again. This place could ruin other Cracker Barrels for us.

As usual, Cracker Barrel disappoints. When you are in the middle of nowhere and there is nothing else, this is your last resort.
It’s busy ofc but what makes it so bad is the hostess is no where to be found and there is a line and servers literally look over at you and walk on by. So we get seated. The table is dirty. I use the restroom and for the first time in the history of peeing at Cracker Barrel the bathroom doesn’t smell like a urinal. BUT there wasn’t any toilet paper and no one to ask if they can “spare a square!” The only place that is actually warm is the bathroom. No fire in the fire place. I tried to order soup and there is none. WTH? It’s 40° out and it’s 12:30 in the afternoon. How is there no soup? Also we didn’t get any biscuits or corn bread and I’m sorry but I shouldn’t have to beg for them since I had to hound the waitress to bring us straws. It is so cold in here that my food got cold really fast. I mean I honestly thought we had seen the worst of Cracker Barrel but nope we have hit an all time low. I write these reviews in hopes that maybe corporate would make some changes but I don’t think this company cares about its customers! If I could leave negative stars I would.

The decline of national chains is sad. We count on Cracker Barrel. Up and down the highway, we trust CB brand. The DIY hot chocolate was interesting and yummy. It came out first. the rest of it was slow! Everything else was edible. Not bad enough to send back or get a free meal. The southern chicken usually crisp, was soggy. The ocra was soggy, the potato casserole rock hard. We were on our way to a funeral, it was Monday of Thanksgiving week, and 8 pm. No sense in complaining there, we just didn't have the energy. It was not comfort food.

Waited 40 minutes for a table which they were busy at the time. Looked around store, after we would have sat outside but it was to cold. Once we got seated our server came to get our drink order. After she took our order, I ordered the meatloaf dinner with dumplings, fried apples and green beans, but green beans they were out, so I chose corn. My husband wanted the chicken pot pie, but there wasn’t any left, he picks something else. After a while she brought us biscuits and grape jelly, I asked for blackberry said out of that too. We didn’t even get any corn bread muffins. Our food finally came out after a wait of 40 minutes. Our server never came by to check on our drinks, or say your meals are coming. Our dinners were just okay. My side dish of dumplings were clumps and not cooked through, meal was just warm not hot. Sent back dumplings for new ones they weee about the same. My husband said that he could have had more dumplings in the chicken and dumplings dish. We had to ask another worker about getting more drinks and a bag for the biscuits, finally our server showed up. I’m not usually disappointed with Cracker Barrel but this stop we were very disappointed at this particular Cracker Barrel in NC. We were traveling and wasted almost an extra hour waiting that made us driving to our destination even later.
