I decided to give the Chinese Kitchen in York, SC another try after not visiting for years because of the negative reviews I’d seen online. I called in my order for pork fried rice with one wing and drove all the way from Lake Wylie. When I got home and opened my food, I found they had given me yellow rice instead.
I called the restaurant, and unfortunately, the manager was extremely rude and dismissive about the mistake. After the long drive and poor customer service, I will not be visiting this location again. It’s disappointing because I remember the food being good years ago, but this experience sealed the deal for me.

I ORDERED the shrimp w/lobster sauce w/fried rice, hubbie got the beef lo mein; What I GOT was some kinda brownish-pink rice w/some kinda watery white sauce with only 3 shrimps in it. 😰 They were also VERY STINGY with the soy sauce & hot mustard sauces..I mean ONLY 2 hot mustard packets & 3 soy sauce packets for 2 full entrees & 4 egg rolls.?!? 🤔😡 The ONLY good thing was the egg rolls. Save your money!! Eat somewhere else!!

The restaurant itself was a bit... Ick. The service and the food were spot on! They didn't add so much salt and I could taste the actual meat and vegetables, a first in this area!

They have a really good lunch special!! I was surprised how fresh and delicious the food was. Definitely not much to look at from the outside, but really nice people inside and really fresh yummy food! I’ll definitely be coming back soon! I was impressed by the quantity of food for the price!
