Best and toughest course in town. Lots of tricky elevation changes
Don’t try to take your kids with you. They won’t let family ride along with you.
Nice place!
The course is in pretty good shape. The staff are rude and the price is really high for what is an ok muni course at best.
Good conditions. Greens were fast and tough. Windy.
They raised their rates again and the course it the worst ive ever see it 50% of tee boxes are dead and about 40% of greens and fringe have massive dead spots
This is an awesome place to eat. The food is delicious and the service is great. We didn't golf but it looks like a nice course. This place is closed now.
We all paid and this lady came out and was asking the youngest guy with us for a drivers license, when he said he didn't have it she stopped us and would not allow us to play the 9 holes we paid for. very disappointing!
We traveled 8 hours to come play 9 holes and enjoy the views and weren’t aloud to play because one of members in our group didn’t have his own set of clubs or a drivers license… very disappointed with how rude the lady was about it as well
My family and I lived in Rapid City between 2001 and 2013, and during this time, we got to play at every golf course that the city has to offer, to include the ones outside of town. Prairie Ridge Golf Course will always be special for us because we've golfed here so many times with friends and co-workers.The one thing that was frustrating throughout my time playing here is I've always heard rumors from the base that they were going to add on a second 9-hole course, but obviously nothing was executed and it was just all lip service. If the course added another 9-hole course, then I would definitely fly back to try it out.I know it's been a while since my last visit and some of the folks who worked here may not be around anymore, but the staff were always phenomenal. I recall the cost to play here was very reasonable, to include the annual memberships for both green fees and USGA GHIN handicap service. Like I mentioned before, I'm not sure what service is available to the public these days since it's been a while for me golfing here, I just know the over experience is great. Thanks for all the memories.

Course was in decent condition, although all the holes and tee off boxes are right next to each other. The biggest hazards are the other golfers. Felt like we were going to get hit on every hole
It's a nice little course for Box Elder SD, and it does provide plenty of challenges throughout the course. The downside is with the course being in a small space. The holes are right next to each other. Plus, the greens tend to bake in the sun due to little coverage, making them super fast and tough to read at times. Overall, though, for the price you pay, it's hard to beat especially with all the courses in Rapid City being usually higher in price.
The staff is very friendly and the course is in good shape ?
This course was in terrible condition. Greens where fast witch I don’t mind but when it’s windy, you can’t stop your ball on the green at all. I was on the turn and I wanted food but they didn’t have ANYTHING! Very bad course but the planes are amazing.
Few hazards.lots kf uphill
